The location was only a few blocks from public transportation. There
were many eating places of all types nearby. The hotel is slightly
uphill; it is about 3 blocks of moderate incline but there are different
routes that can minimize the uphill walk. The hotel is very nice and
clean with amenities I did not see available at other hotels such as
bottled water, coffee, tea, hot breakfast and cookies. It is an older
building but well maintained. The service was friendly and the

Hotel had a more personable feeling about it - some of the larger hotels are so impersonal. Staff were extremely friendly and greeted you upon arrival and departure. Staff were very responsive. The location is extremely good - quiet and within walking distance to many of the tourist sites.

This is an outstanding hotel. The service is superb and the staff courteous and polite. The dining experience is fabulous, and the chicken curry (ask for the white meat to be changed for dark meat) is divine. Room service is rapid, with the slowest delivery being 32 minutes - that would be extremely fast for most 5 star hotels that I have stayed in.

The hotel was very modern, and very comfortable, if we had more time I would have definitely used more of the facilities offered in the hotel. The sights were so beautiful in san fran, will definitely be coming back here again.

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in mid November. I have seen people raise there eyebrows when they learn this hotel is situated in Tenderloin area (which is considered a bit shady area). The staff are excellent, they always treat me with dignity and respect
and the Europa is now my official choice of stay whenever i'm in San
Francisco. No outrageous deposits and even booked my airport shuttle
without any hassle. My number one recommendation for any budget traveler
who wants to stay somewhere in the city that is safe, clean and

Ideally situated for everything. In Union Square in 2 minutes and easy access to all forms of transport. Staff were friendly and helpful and the diner next door excellent. Everything on the doorstep. Being in the city centre meant it was noisy at night but earplugs were provided. We slept very well without resorting to them. Very happy with it all and thoroughly recommend the hotel.

Every single staff member we encountered went way beyond the call of duty to make sure that we enjoyed our stay.
We must commend Bill Sutton, Head Concierge, and his staff for especially excellent service. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to San Francisco.

Everyone was so friendly and the staff went out of their way to make sure that we would be comfortable. They even suggested that we might want to change our room because they were afraid that being on a lower floor we'd be bothered by the noise of the street! Then they checked on us to make sure we were not bothered by the noise at all. The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous, nothing was
too much trouble for them. We were booked into one of the King corner
rooms on the 22nd floor and the view over the city and the bay was
superb. The hotel a bus stop that takes you directly to Fisherman's
wharf or in the other direction is the terminus for the cable car.

Great rooms with a nice view from the 23rd floor. Excellent staff, courteous, and friendly. We were able to walk daily and to have close access to the bus line. Around the corner multiple restaurants for late suppers. Highly recommended. Was there with my wife and 4 older children.
