Cosa dice la gente
The rooms were great: nicely decorated, clean, nice view. The size of the room was perfect for me; but I only stayed for 2 days. I can imagine some people find them too small ( if you would have American standards). The location was in Little Italy; very nice area with lots of coffee shops and restaurants. It is not downtown, but within reasonable walking distance and close to public transport and harbor. tutti gli commenti dei clienti »
The style of hotel and room suited our taste and what you would expect
from a European style boutique hotel. Great Cafe downstairs! Great View
of downtown and a feeling like you are downtown, but not in the thick of
it. Relatively quiet and easy access to all parts of San Diego. The
staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will make this our home
away from home whenever we travel to San Diego.
La Pensione was perfectly located in Little Italy, close to delicious restaurants, bars and walking distance to the coast line. The room was cute, clean, contemporary and perfect for what we needed. There was also a conveniently located coffee house right downstairs. The best thing was the farmers market on Saturday right outside.
The location of this Hotel is perfectly located in Historic Little Italy
3 trolley stops away from Old Town, 7$ cab ride or a healthy 10 block
walk to Gaslamp district and a movie mall. The Hotel is under
renovation. The room I stayed in was perfectly upgraded. No noise,
quiet, and perfect for a wknd get away.
A centrally located small hotel in the heart of "Little Italy".Wonderful, polite and helpful staff (special thanks to, Stephanie and Javier). A great location,5 minutes from the trolley station, surrounded by many great restaurants, with it's own cafe and pizzeria. Smoke-free. A great value for money.
Loved the location both for walking and proximity to the Trolley system. Staff was so helpful and pleasant. The hotel is charming, comfortable with a courtyard in the center and small balconeys on the 3rd and 4th floor. Area. Little Italy, features great restaurants and a charm all of it's own.
Everything- the beds were so comfortable, every cafe and restaurant we ate on India Street was delicious, the farmer's market was right outside the hotel door on Saturday and with the location we walked to Gaslamp District and took the trolley located 2 blocks away to go to Old Town.
I liked the modern well apportioned room which was very comfortable and
enabled me to be in a central location in San Diego without being among
the high-rise buildings. The small Italian cafe next door was ideal for
a light breakfast or a coffee any other time day or night.
This was a beautiful boutique motel located close to the waterfront in
San Diego. The hotel is located within Little Italy and close to
outstanding Italian restaurants. The room is charming and has a European
boutique style. It was a great place for the price and location.
The staff was very friendly and helpful
Though the hotel isn't located downtown, it is close to a street car stop, which makes travelling around easy
The hotel's Little Italy location on the main restaurant street meant that there was no lack of dining options.
Great location, close to cafes, restaurants, shopping, train/trams, San Diego harbour. Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. Nice clean room, modern and comfy bed. Added bonus of meeting "Penny" the reception dog, who is happy to meet tourists for a pat.
Sadly I had only one day in San Diego, however I found people very friendly and helpful. In the words above I would add "central" as although not on a direct bus route La Pensione is just that. I was most impressed and to hear church bells! wonderful!.
This hotel is recently remodeled and the decor in the room is awesome. The balcony gave us a view of the Downtown skyline and the harbor and was just great! The hotel is in the heart of Little Italy so it was perfect for walking, shopping and dining.
Location, location, location..this is a great boutique hotel very close
to downtown. The area itself has bars and restaurants and has a great
view of the bay from the street. There is a killer farmer's market
that is set up on the weekend!!!.
Location was very very good. 5 minutes walking to nearest trolley station. 8-10 minutes to nearest bus station which is just two stops to the airport.
Right in the middle of Little Italy, which is a good place to eat and drink.
La pensione hotel is perfect!
- great location, in the heart of little italy.
- no noise at night eventhough its a busy area.
- staff is great
- decoration is beautiful
Loved it! i didnt wanna leave.
Boutique hotel in Little Italy section of San Diego. Plenty of restaurants in neighborhood. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and comfortable. Two blocks from metro transit station.
Location, location, location, the modern amenities and the two cafes in the courtyard. Plus Javier and the lady who is at the front desk in the afternoons and evening. Also the parking.
Right in the middle of Little Italy in downtown San Diego next to some
great restaurants. Rooms have a European feel. Bed was very comfortable
and everything was nice and clean.
Loved the location and the over all feel of the hotel, it was very simply yet modern. And loved that we woke up to a festival outside in little Italy, the noise didnt bother us.
very close to our daughter's apartment; walked back and forth; lots of dining and coffee shops available; staff very helpful in resolving our issues; newly remodeled.
The hotel was in the heart of Little Italy in San Diego. Great
restaurants all over the place. The rooms were cozy had great showers.
We will definitely be back.
Cheerful and well-designed, La Pensione gives you luxury on a budget. Certainly one of the most delightful choices for hotel accomodation in San Diego !!!.
Good location in Little Italy. Coffee shop and courtyard near lobby very
nice; almost like Europe. Front desk staff very helpful and personable.
Loved the modern decor...great location in little Italy...close to
coffee shops, etc. Very comfy bed and good linens with lots of pillows.
Everything, especially the staff! Great hotel within walking distance of transportation, downtown and fantastic restaurants.
Farmers market right out the front door in the morning. Close to great food and trolley line. Safe walking neighborhood.
The design of the room was beautiful and in a nice location. It was so quiet and calm in the morning ... We loved it!.
I was happy with my experience staying at this hotel. The location was perfect to all cafe's, restaurants.....
Close location to airport, since this visit we were only staying one night and getting an early morning flight.
-Location in Little italy with many Restaurants Around
- modern And Cheap
- Save Car parking Space.
Nice location in Little Italy, excellent coffee in the Bar Italia in the same building.
Felt like I was in Italy. Great location, intimate setting & center
of Little Italy.
very clean and friendly staff. Great value for being in the center of SanDiego.
Very cozy atmosphere, everyone was helpful and courteous. Location is perfect.
Simple, clean, newly renovated, great value and good location for my purposes.
everything! great location! Close to everything you want to do in San Diego!.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable.
Location was great for our needs. Little Italy is a wonderful
part of town.

location
wonderful rooms, small but very very nice!.
Very friendly staff and extrem helpfull. Near to trolly, but quite.
Location: close to restaurants, downtown, harbor, transportation.
In the smack middle of lil Italy where's there lots to get into.
Very clean and modern, friendly staff and well located.
I like the modern look..very clean..very comfortable.
Location. Italian coffee shop and patio adjacent.
Atmosphere of both the location and the hotel.
Location Amazing never drove anywhere.
Nice rooms and excellent location.
Great location for a good price.
I was not impressed by the staff; it was okay but not more than that - a little bit uninterested and not very helpful when it came to my parking spot issue.
No room service at all. - There is a great cafe downstairs but they do
not deliver so you have to go down and get your coffee in the morning -
I guess I am just lazy in the morning. Did not have hbo on tv.
Parking in their garage was a tad of a challenge but it worked out and you can probably get away with not bringing a car. Walking and public transportation can get you most places.
I would have liked historic information about the neighborhood from the
front desk staff or at least brochure of the area. However the staff
was helpful.
Probably the size of the rooms, a bit small, otherwise modern and friendly!.
Parking was difficult to find around this hotel and their parking lot
did not accommodate the maximum occupancy of rooms to parking spaces.
The room (and especially the bathroom) was quite small. Still, as I was out for most of the time that didn't bother me too much.
Nothing.
The room was a bit small, but this was only an overnight getaway so it was fine for the money. My only real complaint is that the WiFi was not working from our room.
A little noisy early in the morning and there is iron/iron board
in the room.
Wi-fi reception was not very good for upper stairs, had to go out of the room to have wi-fi.
the rooms are small
BUT you dont really need more space!.
Rooms a bit small but the priuce was right.
Parking was ridiculous. There is supposedly an underground ramp for
hotel guests but don't expect to use it since we were told it was
full every time I asked.
Small rooms.
First room was very noisy as it was on India street. Staff was very accommodating in moving us to an inside room which was very quiet.
Very small room. No coffee pot in room. No clock in room.
Street rooms are very noisy so don't stay there if you want to sleep
in. Desk did offer us a back room if we wanted.
Nothing.
We could here them setting up the Farmers Market early in the morn.
The room was somewhat small and they don't allow dogs :(.
The only thing was people setting up for the fiesta in the very early morning. Very noisy. But, that was understandable. I would definietly stay here again.
We liked everything.
- Extra Charge for parking.
Elevator very busy at certain times.
Parking availability.
saturday night noise really late, I understand, not the hotels fault.
sunday am bike rally, speakers were right outside our window at 6am, also not their fault.
no breakfast for the price of the hotel. should offer at least A continental breakfast for the price of the hotel.
Room could use a comfortable chair/couch.
Room a lil small but other than that all good.
Would have liked to keep the window open through the night but a bit noisy with traffic.
There was no staff. Like no one..the only employee was the front desk clerk and that's it...if you needed something you would have to get it your self..I had to go next door to a restaurant to borrow some whine glasses.. a whine opener is shared through out the hotel, crazy..!! They said they had parking for $15 dollars a day but when we got there there was none.
Nothing - all was good.
No help with luggage. (Had to carry 100 pounds of luggage up the front steps) No coffee in the hotel.
Parking hotel needs to arrange a deal at a local lot for overflow parking we got lucky but front desk needs to post sign at front desk in BOLD letters of all street signs & towing tickets etc.farmers mkt on weekend.
Parking.
A little cramped, but for a quick stay not a big deal.
