Loved my stay at the Coconut Waikiki! This hotel is such a great deal for Waikiki and the location is perfect - right on the canal so a little quieter than being right on the main strip. Decor looks just like the hotel photos - fresh and modern. Very comfy beds, was sad to leave them. All the reviews about the canal side being noisy are accurate -

I loved the cute decour, the room was well kept and clean. I know that people have made comments about the continental breakfast and so I was prepared for the worst but I honestly thought it was good. There may not be a lot of choice but it got me through the morning. Also considering that there was a kichenette in my room, I could always buy breakfast goods if I wanted more. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and I would stay here again. Close to lots of shopping and the beach. Eve

The location is great. Right by the water and in a 'real' part
of the island. Don't take any notice of reviews that say the
neighbourhood is unsafe. It is a working area and there are fishermen
with gear etc. It's real!!
Staff at the resort are very helpful and the atmosphere is relaxed. Good to have the pool, canoes and snorkelling gear available

It was only a 5-10min walk to the Seven Eleven, and Mike’s Hulu Chicken truck and a grocery store where you can also buy alochol and foods. The room had hot plates and a microwave and kitchen. So that was more than fine.
The scenery was just magnificent. The water and beautiful rich green mountains with mist. I loved the fact that it was so far away from Wakiki. (Too busy for me).
My studio room was enormous and my bed was very comfortable.

Ilima is a gem! The decor is absolutely vintage Hawaiian.... wood, tile, wicker, tropical prints, original local artwork, and pink all over. We had room 1507 and had an amazing view of the canal and mountains. It was perfect to wake up to this every morning, with a very big balcony seating area to have coffee and tea. This boutique hotel is "just right". Not too big, not too small, not too fancy, not too plain: relaxed, casual elegance. The food is excellent. Most of the staff have been there for years. The hotel is at the far end of Waikiki Beach, next to the Nanitorium, across from Kapiolani Park and close to Diamond Head--in short, away from the madness of Waikiki but within walking distance.

Convenient location near the beach and shopping and restaurants. WiFi in the room enables us to keep in touch with family back in Toronto and fridge and microwave in the room which was very helpful for breakfast. We had a good room with the view of the road but no noise. The Elite concierage and the Bell hop were very helpful in arranging trips and taxi
