We had a 2nd floor apartment on a 2 storey block - try to ask for the 2 storey buildings when you book. It was fantastic. The view of Molokini Crater, Kahoolawe, and Kameole Two was unparalleled. The morning snorkling off the rocks in front of Hale Pau Hana afforded a great variety of fishes and many green sea turtles. Our unit was superb and the other guests and staff were friendly.

The grounds were really nice, with a beautiful view of the ocean, not good for swimming but very nice stretch of coast. A great deal for the money, very relaxing and laid back. A slice of old Hawaii that is fast disappearing.

Garden View Apartment included nice view of ocean, large lanai with table and two chairs, washer/dryer, dishwasher, full kitchen, supplied soaps for washer and dishwasher and bathroom toiletries. There were several clean gas grills with grilling tools around the property as well as lounge chairs, hammocks, pool and hot tub. Great restaurant on site but make reservations at least 48 hours in advance. Gluten free menu was phenomenal.

The location is great, having the Whalers village right next door was so convenient with lots of places to eat out.
The beach was lovely, very clean and long enough to walk daily to keep the holiday kilo's down.
We loved our unit, it was spacious and comfortable, it overlooked the village and had a great sea view.

Everything about this place is excellent except the pool which is far too small for the amount of guests there are. However as its right on the beach, the ocean and local sea turtles make up for it. The beach is spacious and not crowded. Room is modern, with everything you need. We loved out stay here.

The place itself was absolutely amazing. It was very high end and well
done from the fixtures to the landscaping. The yoga was a great touch
and I loved the fact it didn't feel "Marriott" or
"Hilton" at all. It's next to Pa'ia which was a great
little hippie town with very affordable food. -

location - great access to the beach, soft sands, and if you walk 10 mins north the snorkeling is great. kitchen area is very handy. renting equipt (snorkel, paddle board) is super easy - go visit the stand right behind Castaway cafe - easy and simple, and Rodrigo is a great instructor. totally recommend them and this place. -

I liked the villa suite that my extended family and I stayed in. We got to spend quality, relaxing time together. The lagoon swimming and pool swimming were fantastic. Our ocean view was wonderful! The price was reasonable. -

The staff was really helpful when the door keys they gave us did not work and sent up someone who had to go and get special equipment to clear out the lock so it would take the key. This was just a I have just got off the airplane late at night and am leaving for elsewhere the next morning destination so we did not look to see anything in the area

variety within easy walking distance. Extreemly friendly staff.

The staff and guests just seemed so much more pleasant and approachable than other resorts we visited in the area. The location, beach and quiet were ideal for us. We visited the Four Seasons, Andaz and Grand Wailea and just felt more "at home" at the Makena. Less pretentious, less "busy", more relaxing, quieter. -

The swimming pool complex was amazing and well-suited for both a 1-year-old and an 8-year-old.
