Have been staying at the Puffin for years. It's always a good place to stay. The staff there is exceptional.The general manager has been there for years, is a good leader, and also drives the shuttle! Several people employed at the same company where I work (Red Dog Mine) also stay at Puffin. -

Stayed here the last night before leaving Alaska. Great place to stay, nice room and close to the airport. They have a 24 hour shuttle which is great for traveling. -
The staff is wonderful - friendly, helpful, actually go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. They actually know many of their customers names.

Everything. Jan and Ela are such a wonderful couple who make you feel like home. They really take care of your during your stay at Gustavus. They picked us at the airport when we arrived, they gave us great tips about the area, they prepared a delicious dinner and an energetic breakfast (this last one is included in the room price). Our flight was delayed and we couldn't get to our campground before the last orientation (required to stay at the campground). So we booked whatever room available as soon as we landed in Gustavus. They called us immediately asking if we needed a shuttle and provided a ride for us to the campground the next morning. Everyone was extremely nice, the bed we had was very comfortable and the breakfast they offered was delicious.

Randy greeted us with a smile even though he thought we had bailed on
him. The place was well laid out and neat as a pin. The table in the

What a hidden gem! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Gary, the owner,
called that morning to let us know that he would be gone for the
afternoon of our arrival but gave us all of the instructions on where
the key would be! We loved the remote cabins that were on the lake and
in the woods! We took out the peddle boat and enjoyed cruising around
the lake and taking in the sites. Cabins were so clean and nice. We will
definitely recommend it to our family and friends.

Hotel rooms in Anchorage during the summer are outrageously priced. Coming here to shop and paying those prices is tough. This hotel is a good answer to that problem. These cabins are a gem of a find very close to Denali! We absolutely felt like we were home from the welcome sign with our name on the front door to all the amenities. We wanted for absolutely nothing! Bring your food and bodies and the rest is there for your use! Staff was great as well, very laid back and friendly, right down to their dog!

There was only three cabins. It was quiet and cozy! Cabins were stocked with everything you would need in the kitchen. A grill outside and chairs to sit on the deck and enjoy the view. We loved it there! It would be a great place for a couple of familys or friends to stay at all three cabins. It is a perfect distance from the hustle and bustle of the Denali crowd. But not to far to go into Denali during the day.
