Cosa dice la gente
I felt very good there. It's not a typical hotel, each room is
actually just a very small space of floor which is taken mostly of the
bed and just a small cupboard, and the room is separated from the others
just by a tiny wall. So you feel like sleeping in a large space of beds,
but at least you don't see the person sleeping nearby. Although it
doesn't sound perfect, it was really nice there. The atmosphere was
great, the staff was very friendly. I guess, I got lucky with good
"neighbours", so . tutti gli commenti dei clienti »
This place can only be as good as the people who stay there - the walls
between rooms in the sleeping area don't reach the ceiling and every
sneeze is audiable to everyone (you can't hear check-in counter or
lobby area, as they are in a different room). During my stay, the hotel
was fully booked and the guests were backpackers from Canada, us and
Europe. All guests were very quiet and considerate of others. I usually
don't sleep well in hotels, but I had the greatest night sleep after
a long in.
Luxury Hostel - brilliant concept! On the whole everyone was very mature and the room where all the rooms were situated was kept very quiet. Showers and toilets kept very clean and were immaculate. Gorgeous decor throughout, lovely roof garden to spend 5 minutes away from the mayhem of NYC. Staff incredibly attentive and welcoming, so impressed by their professionalism. In a fantastic location that is a little away from the centre of manhattan, but in amongst a load of very good cafes and rest.
The quarters were tight in the dorms obviously but I found the design charming. The common areas were beautiful for a hostel and the service was excellent.
Not the cheapest hostel available but the $20-$30 dollars extra a night are worth it since the place is very impressive for a hostel.
They have tons of single beds so it is one of the few places I found that didn't ask me to pay double for a 2 bed private. On the other hand there is no way to fit two people in a dorm even if they let you, s.
My stay at the bowery house was awesome.... the staff is very kind and helpful (with no exception), the place was very clean and organized, and it's well located close to subway stations conecting you with NYC. The rooftop is a good place to stay during the night and has a great view of the city. I really enjoyed my staying at the bowery house... it was so good that i returned to the place after a quick trip out of NYC... i'd definetly recomend people to arrange your resrrvation to this place :.
Loved the whole style of The Bowery House, it is a totally different travelling experience. You just go to hostel to sleep,to rest after a long day enjoying NY, or for chilling at the rooftop terrace.
If you travel alone you will feel safe there, no worries, the staff is gentile and always helpfull, even they helped me with the packs to go downstairs :) When I come back to NY for a short-time scape it will be my 1st option :).
Well situated (20 minutes by walk from the Hudson River!) The Bowery House is a really nice place!
Experienced the 'cabin' twice (cute little cozy room!) and enjoyed it a lot!
I'm also a big fan of the shampoo and soap self-service in the bathroom!
Great staff too (always someone at the desk entrance)
If you're looking for a place in New York for your next journey, that's the place to stay!.
That place is really cool!
Of course, the rooms are little, but for someone travelling by business or only
to know the place, it's perfect!
The location is amazing for someone who wanna look at the New York's artistic side, like me.
This was the most clean hostel that I ever knew.
This is the second time I've stayed at the Bowery House and the
staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are warm and comfortable
and the bathroom facilities are always spotless. The location is great
too. Will definitely be back next time I'm in nyc.
The staff were lovely, extremely helpful and polite, it was in a great
location, and, as long as you know what you're getting beforehand
(I.E. read the description and a few reviews), there is little to
complain about.
The Bowery House is a very unique, pleasant place. The bathrooms and showers are well done and maintained. The location is perfect. It is fairly expensive, but accomodation in NY is in general more expensive.
The interior design and furniture is sophisticated and aesthetic. The rooftop garden is well decorated, maybe not the best view of the whole neighborhood but it is definitely a great place to chill out .
Pleasant staff, good price. Noise problem was solved by earplugs. Wi-fi in the cabin. Perfect to stay for 1-2 nights, if you are young man and have not a lot of money, but want to see New York.
Location is perfect(close to stations, next to the Little Italy), cleaness, staff's attitudes, Bath stuff is good(Shampoo, conditioner, body soap), lobby is cozy, strong free Wi-Fi everywhere.
I took a dorm and it all was very neat. The showers/bathroom was
kept clean as well. They give you complementary earplugs as well in case
you are bothered by other people snoring. Nice touch!.
Very friendly, approachable and helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere, good location for transport, shopping and for local restaurants.the rooftop is definitely worth a visit, Would use again.
It's very clean, the shower is perfect in my opinion, the location is really nice. The place is perfect for a people that looks for a bed to sleep and want to stay in good location of NY.
Free wi-fi ; quite silent hotel ; doorman ; clean room ; clean restrooms ; very friendly staff ; close to two metro stations ; close to 3 avenue ; many shops, restaurants around the hotel.
Well situated on Bowery street just on the edge of Chinatown. Good personel. The room was small, but the kind of small that translates to "cozy". I liked it and would go there again!.
Nice hostel (you will have a modest cabin & tiny walls & snoring neighbor), Nice location (3 min walk distance from Bowery metro station (J) , 24h reception,
clean hostel.
Excellent location!
Wi-fi worked perfect!
I've been a week in Museum Bunk room. Comfortable beds! Cool people! Very kind employees! Very good price/quality relationship!.
The staff was the most awesome group of people I've encountered in a good while. Extremely helpful is an understatement. The bathrooms were as pictured so that's a plus.
The location was fabulous; staff friendly; bathroom pleasant, loved the Red Flower products supplied; good reading light in bedroom; comfortable lounge for calls, etc.
I liked the cleanliness, price, location, safe, free WiFi, nice big lounge area, rooftop garden, very friendly and helpful staff on duty 24 hours at the front desk.
The somewhat unique idea of the open-top cabins, - think this is a sort of a hostel upgrade rather than a hotel. Read the history of the House to get the it right.
The Bowery house was a great place to stay. It was very clean and well kept, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.
The staff was outstanding--friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, professional, fun. The place is kept very clean despite being a hostel with shared facilities.
Wonderful restroom. Look's classical. The room is cute. Safety excellent. The staff very helpful. It's near the subway and place of interest.
the staff was super nice. there is always a friendly face at the front desk 24 hours a day. the bathrooms are always clean and well stocked.
The staff, especially Mia at the front desk, are exceptionally nice. The bathrooms are cleaner than any hostel I've ever stayed in.
Fantastic Location, close to the Subway Very friendly staff - very
helpful with providing directions Clean shared amenities.
The staff were nice I enjoyed it for my buck. It was my first time staying in a hostel, hope I can book in the summer time.
Very friendly, capable, and responsive staff. Great location -- all the best of Manhattan in walking distance.
The staff was very friendly, the hotel is very clean and and the shared areas too. Near subway station.
Staff and bathrooms were excellent. Great location. Bedrooms where
exactly as expected so no surprises.
Very clean. Nice, friendly staff. Safe. Comfortable bed(love how tight it was made :) ) clean bathroom.
Staff is excellent. The room and bathroom are very clean. There's a roof top and a place to relax.
Location. Staff. Clean bathroom and showers. Comfortable beds. Very nice rooftop relaxation spot.
The staff is great and always willing to help. I have absolutely nothing to complain about.
Personnel, style, purity and reasonable prices. And ear plugs for ears as I hosted it!.
Good location, friendly staff, price is very good for NY and Manhattan.
Interesting location and decor. Very simple but good value for money.
Location, low cost, close to two subway lines, market close.
Very clean, safe hostel. Good location. Friendly staff.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and a good vibe.
Location to wghere we needed to be, ambiance.
Always clean, friendly and good service.
Nice restroom facilities
Clean.
Ambiance, cleanness, location.
Excellent service and staff!.
Together with city tax and sales tax my bill for one night in a 6-person
female dorm was 100 dollars.
The walls of the rooms do not reach to the ceiling. and while the lattice work on the top of the walls do offer a bit of well needed air circulation, it does not stop sound travelling. They are more cubicles than rooms, but much better than sharing a huge dorm anyday.
There is a moderate walk to the subway but it wasn't that bad at least once I didn't have luggage to deal with (which they held for me an extra day for a small fee).
Nothing, was so cool as I expected.
The rooms are really tight.
The beds are little for a guy tall like me.
The first time I stayed at the Bowery House my actual room was much
cleaner and my bed was changed and towels were replaced during my
stay...this didn't happen during my recent stay. Also this time the
room itself was not as clean.
The hostel-style layout isn't for everybody, but it's nothing
the Bowery House can do to improve this, they are honest and upfront
about the experience. The only downpoint is the showers were often cold,
I had to be up early to get in there first to get a hot one.
You should inform guests in advance about the €50 deposit. This is not a common thing in Europe or the Middle East and is irritating, at least people should know in advance.
I don't like common shower, but for this price, I suggest it is my problem. I think, you should not stay in this hotel for more than 2-3 nights unless absolutely necessary, you may be tired of it.
Too small room to pay such an expensive fee. You can hear other people's talking. If they are too loud, you'll be irritated.
All was good!.
All the people can listen each other, but it's not a problem when you care an Ipod.
Luggage storage after check-out costs 10 USD. I sleep very often in hotels and it was the first time when it has to be paid. Luggage storage before check-in was for free.
The room was actually smaller than I am, so I could not stretch out in bed at night without hitting my head and feet at the wall.
in man's bath 2 showers out of 3 were out of order;
airco is a little bit noisy.
No one said that the cabins had no roof and if some twit wants to spend all night crumpling paper then you'll have a problem. But there are some pretty great bars on the block so its easy to find a way to get around it.
The night disturbances on 2 of 4 near neighbor had a loud voiced argumentative prostitute in his room. It took a long time for security to come, and they gave them 5 and then 10 more minutes to clear out.
Also, the close quarters would probably be unbearably airless in summer.
Once I got used to the small size of the room I was okay.
But, it was a shock at first!
Then I said to myself 'I am grateful for the Bowery House as I would not be able to visit NYC otherwise due to the high cost of accommodations'.
Lack of elevator, lack of any eating space, too tiny showers.
There weren't any lockers (with locks) provided in the rooms, and although the staff offered to hold my stuff in the office while I was out, I think the place would be even better if there were lockers.
Some of the cabins are way too small. I am 6'4" and my cabin was about 6' long. A few cabins have more leg room.
I can't stand the sound whenever i want to sleep. It's disturbing. The room design with open ceiling allowed all kind of sound come's in. The room also very chilly even during month of june. This becoz of centralize aircond.
the only thing i would say i didn't like is that you only get one pillow, i usually have 2 pillows, but really that's it.
I'm a light sleeper, and I was awoken a few times even with earplugs.
Too dark & gloomy - should be better lit The pictures on the web-
site tend to exaggerate the size of the room - the cubicles are tiny.
Its not really anything I didn't like. I missed the opening of the restaurant but, that's pretty much it.
The Bowery House is unique. Some will be put off by the tiny cabins and no soundproofing. But it is a tremendous bargain for a place to sleep.
If you are taller than 1.80m, you will have problems because the rooms are little than 1.80m. Rooms very cold.
Occasionally noisy in the evening. 99% of people staying were v
respectful of everyone else. It just takes 1% to spoil the peace.
Lights in the common room were too dim. I would have preferred to spend more time out there reading but I wasn't able because of the lighting.
There is no real roof in a lot of the single rooms, so you hear every one. I didn't get a good night sleep.
What can I say, It is a hostel. You can not complain about room with 6 bunk beds. Luggage storage after checkout was 10 USD regardless wheather it was 20 minutes or 24 hours (charge for 24 hours). I can not really imagine a situation in which could someone use 24 hours luggage storage after checkout. In common I think it takes 2-4 hours and 10 USD for that is bit too much.
I was not lucky, got room with bed bugs....
It was a little more basic than I'd anticipated from my web research.
As a hostel, it receives people from all over the world, some do
not know how to behave and end bothering guests. It is all about
good manners.
Bathrooms have no benches.
Open windows at night let a lot of traffic noise in. But that was a minor thing.
No elevator, and parts were condemned. No kitchen only snacks.
In the cabins you really hear everything your neighbour does, but everyone knows and is therefore as quiet as possible in the area.
Possible Bed Bugs in Room 406 :(
Got Rashes.
