  It was our first time with my friend in New York and the hotel was perfect for us as it was 10 minutes walk to time square. We would walk easily from time square to the hotel after 12am. The room was small but we loved that it was perfectly clean. We were hardly in the room as we would leave for breakfast at 7am then leave for our sightseeing and... cosa dice la gente » shopping and we always came back to the room after 12am so the size of the room did not bother us. We enjoyed the hot breakfast especially the cheese - The room was confortable, the matress, pillows and sheets were perfect. Well maintained, all furniture, carpets, wallpaper, courtains, bathroom, lamps were in good condition. It wasn't noisy or at least it was not a problem for me (I was on floor 11) The WiFi is high speed and, at least in my room, the coverage was perfect. Just two blocks away from Time Square. Unbeatable for this price. Plenty of foodshops around. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely go back there on a next trip to NYC.

  The quietness. Like a retreat. Great food. - Staff were courteous and efficient. Checked in early but no rooms were available, they said they would call me when I could go to the room. They did. The room I got I didn't like (close to elevator door and TV not straight in from of bed). They upgraded me to quieter corner room.

After hours having to use your room key to get past the door security officer then also to make the lift work makes you feel safe. I found the Pearl based on two criteria -- it was not as expensive as some of the other hotels and it was highly ranked by both travelers and star ratings. We were upgraded upon arrival. The rooms and bathrooms in this hotel are huge compared to most rooms in Manhattan and the decor is funky yet comfortable. The location is fabulous. 3 minutes to Grand Central Station and about 10 minutes to Macys. I love this hotel so much that I'm going back in 3 weeks to stay for a week!!!
