  This was our first trip to the USA and New York.The staff were friendly and very efficient. Started with Peter who radioed our arrival to reception even before we were out of the taxi. Together with Caesar on the door they were always there with advise on destinations and restaurants, and treated us like we were family. The room was also very quiet -- no outside stree noise and no internal nois

  The quietness. Like a retreat. Great food. - Staff were courteous and efficient. Checked in early but no rooms were available, they said they would call me when I could go to the room. They did. The room I got I didn't like (close to elevator door and TV not straight in from of bed). They upgraded me to quieter corner room.

  I travel to NYC about 10 times a year. I have hotels at which I customarily stay, but this trip came up suddenly and everything was sold out or exorbitantly expensive. I found the Pearl based on two criteria -- it was not as expensive as some of the other hotels and it was highly ranked by both travelers and star ratings. There was always a doorman to open the door, and friendly staff at the desk to welcome us every time we returned to the hotel. The elevators were fast. The room was very comfortable, with high-quality furnishings. Loved the Keurig coffeemaker, and the tv in the bathroom. Enjoyed the free breakfasts, and there was always a New York Times available to read with our coffee. After a busy day of sightseeing, the "happy hour" was much appreciated; we would take o
