Barstow was a good stop for us as we were travelling from Las Vegas to San Francisco, it was the first stop on our journey as we didn't want to drive too far on the first day. Good shopping at the outlets, don't miss the Vans store in the old outlets and the Idle Spur steakhouse on the old Route 66 is a must.........hard to find though so get dir

Very friendly staff, hotel looked like brand new. Everything was so clean there, room and beds were amazingly clean in comparison to other hotels we've been to on our trip. Very good continental breakfast. Even though the hotel building was close to the freeway, we didn't notice absolutely anything regarding the noise. Superb hotel, must recommend !

The breakfast was surprisingly good. The eggs were real and tasted like home. The coffee was as well. I hope I can arrange to stay on my return across country.

Overall 2 thumbs up. Would expect a lower quality place for the price. Upon arrival I was pleased with the exterior appearance. This then extended to the professional staff. Motel has rooms with view to the unexpectedly large Pool. They have a back door and even a small terrace. We were a party of four with older children and the room was spacious and absolutely sufficient. We used the guest laundry and everything was in good working order and the prices were absolutely ok. The complimentary breakfast was a nice add on! We can strongly recommend the California Inn.

Very clean and comfortable. Had my pet with me and the fee was nominal; they didn't give me a room with crappy carpet to accommodate the pet. Free breakfast was hot, if uninspired. Staff was nice. -
Good location, good bed. All else as you would expect from an older property used as an overnight to somewhere else.

Remarkably good for a budget hotel. The Manager is clearly on her game. It was obvious that they try hard to anticipate the needs of guests.
