Stayed here while on a leisure cycle through the Wye Valley and Brecon Beacons. Unfortunately, woke up to stair-rod torrential rain; 25 mph winds; and a forecast saying it was set for the rest of the day. Our host used his local conections to sort out transport for our bikes and oursleves to our next stop; and let us overstay until gone midday while we waited to be picked up. And this for folk stopping just one night and unlikely to be in Monmouth overnight again. It came on top of friendly and. tutti gli commenti dei clienti »
We had a great welcome from Sandra when we arrived after a 60 mile bike
ride "would you like a cup of tea?" Would we ever! Our room
was perfect, the location was ideal and the breakfast was first rate. In
short, everything you could want in a family B&B at a great price. I
would go back tomorrow.
Very warm welcome, clean and tidy room. The bed was comfortable. Lovely shower room with good, powerful shower. Excellent, huge, breakfast, with top quality ingredients and fresh tomatoes and mushrooms- one of the best breakfasts we've ever had in a B&B.
The personalised service you don't get in large hotel chains is what I really liked. It made me feel like a house guest and not a hotel customer. The breakfast was usual choice but made excellently. And I like my food.
Very cosy and friendly, and in the centre of the town. Easy parking in public car park nearby. Monmouth is an excellent place to visit. Lovely period buildings and atmosphere. Riverside walks are a must.
clean accomodation nice warm room complimentary tea, coffee etc useful information booklet of the area free morning newspaper good quality breakfast with a choice of extras at no further charge.
The staff texted to get an ETA and then kindly waited for me to arrive at what was a later than normally scheduled arrival time. Staff were friendly and obliging.
Right in middle of Monmouth, but on a quiet side street.
Although there were staff shortages, the rooms were clean and ready for us and we had a friendly welcome.
The proprietor Richard was extremely helpful. He also provides evening meals. We were on cycles and he had storage for these. I would stay here again for sure.

Own key access, giving ability to come and go freely.
Freshly cooked breakfast.
Position just off the main street.
Friendly staff.
Close to town centre, friendly staff. Excellent breakfast.
good sized clean, nicely decorated and furbished bedroom.
Staff very welcoming and helpful. Good breakfast.
breakfast was good.
clean room and nice bedlinen.
Tea on arrival. Friendly staff.
Can't fault it really.
Minor niggle - the duvet was touch too small, and I am large guy. In fairness slept through and through and bed was comfortable.
One room had a very small window and got quite hot at night so the occupant didn't sleep well. However, this room is usually occupied by staff and not in general use, and we were given a discount.
The external escape stairs are awkward for the elderly.
nobody around when we arrived to check in, had to phone the number on the gate, we had arrived between the specified check in times and the room wasn,t quite ready.
I liked it all.
absolutely nothing !!!!.
Being very picky, the only thing to let The Coach House down was a few finishing touches - a few fixtures and fittings looked a bit tired.
The hotel needs really looking after to maintain its charm and high standards. I hope that this will be possible as it seems as though the staff presence is very limited, and it is a shame that the hotel no longer provides more services like dinner for example. I am sure that they would do it very well.
Shower was broken (to be fair had happened recently)but should have been fixed
Wouldn't stay again due to the noise from pub opposite.Noisy until 1am and then cleaning started at 5am!
Realise this isn't the fault of the Coach House but would put me off staying again.
A pity the restaurant has shut!.
everything was fine.
No parking.
Metal steps going up to the rooms. Kitchen extractor fan directly outside main door.
No parking.
The weather!.
we were fortunately travelling on motorcycles, but I don't know where I coud have parked a car.
Nothing.
The bottled water in room.
Rather tired appearance, grubby carpets, damaged trims etc.
Cooking smells throughout, especially in the ensuite bathroom.
Kitchen extractor fan blowing fumes ( burnt cooking oil) onto the accomodation area.
restauarnt no longer operating/open which was one of reasons for booking. double yellow lines on narrow street, so not ideal to stop and unload luggage.
The broken shower fixing.
just needed some finishing touches. A bag in the wastebins, bedside light not working, light in bathroom not working, only 2 coat hangers. Very run down approach to the rooms.stated restaurant but none available.
Noisy beer deliveries to Wetherspoons opposite at 12.15am disturbed our sleep.
