Cosa dice la gente
The hotel/pub is situated just of the Market Square and central to all the facilities.
The staff were friendly, approachable and helpful.
The room was very clean and tidy, the bed very comfortable and the linen crisp and clean.
En suite shower room was a good size, well appointed and clean.
Breakfast was excellent, hot, cooked to order and very tasty.
We did not have dinner but saw the meals there served and they looked very good.
Would definitely stay there again. tutti gli commenti dei clienti »
When we arrived we had been double booked. The owner promptly found us a B&B 2mins from pub, and offered us the price difference or a meal. We decided on the meal. The B&B was excellent and returned to the pub for a wonderful meal and a couple of drinks, at no cost to us all on the house. The staff were friendly and helpful and I'm sure had we stayed we would of enjoyed the stay . We were made to feel very welcome and relaxed after a very tiring day.
On first impression I thought glad we are here for only one night. On arrival we went straight to our room which for a pub was large and comfortable. Went down to the bar for our evening meal again the thought was, it will probably be an average meal. NO the starter and main course were very satisfying and tasty.
After a good nights sleep in a firm bed we went down for breakfast and again there was nothing to be disappointed about.
Would we stay again. YES.
Like a local pub with rooms. Food was good, staff were excellent and good fun and rooms were ok. Enjoyed the stay and thank you to the new owner for going out of his way to make us an early breakfast.
Late booking. Made very welcome & we were helped with our luggage. Food - large portions and well cooked.
Comfortable bed - excellent room facilities
Right in the middle of town.
Standard and quantity of food was excellent. The cooked breakfast was the best I have had in a hotel for many years. Roaring log fire and friendly staff plus well kept beer.
The staff were incredibly accommodating and went out of their way toensure our comfort. The breakfasts amazing. The rooms havebeen recently renovated and are very nice.
Had a great stay at the Bay Horse. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was very good. Loved the home cooked food. Had room 1 with large bed very comfortable.
Friendly staff and excellent food, would happily stay there again and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Evening meal was superb!!.
Very friendly and welcoming staff, and excellent food, Make note that Nicola was very helpful and really made you more than welcome.
The Bay horse is a great base for exploring the dales. The food is very good and we are looking forward to our next visit.
Good location in centre of attractive town. No private car parking but free on-street parking close by. Good breakfast.

The village of Masham is lovely and this accomodation is very central. Nice breakfast.
Location for our needs, the breakfast was excellent and it was exceptionally clean.
Food was excellent. Staff were friendly.
Fantastic food and great pub atmosphere.
location was good in centre of Masham.
The breakfast was excellent.

The food was very nice.
food was ample. breakfast staff friendly and hellpfull.
Nothing.
Nothing.
Bar area could be made a little more attractive but don't let this minor detail cloud your judgment to stay here.
Tiny rooms - but given the age of the building no surprise.
Stayed in room 6 and found the interior sprung mattress very uncomfortable. The en-suit facilities were an imaginative use of an extremely small space and a larger person would struggle. There was black mould on the ceiling and also in the silicon seals in the shower cubicle.
Nothing - maybe a dark ale on tap in the bar - that's why we went to Masham and the Dales.
The only negative point is that the Bay Horse is on the main road but this did not spoil our stay in any way.
Room was rather small and water system made a rather lot of noise when used.
No dislikes.
Heavy staining on bathroom ceiling.
our bedroom was very small.
the bathroom washbasin was also on the small side.
No heating in bathroom and shower head holder not sufficient.
Very steep stairs would be difficult for any one disabled.
Attention to detail, bathroom ceiling was mouldy, noise throughout the night sounding a lot like a fridge. Keeping us awake. Thick of Dust between the bed and bedside table. (Dropped my top down the side and it was unwearable because of all the dust.).
Ask for first floor room if stairs are a problem.
Public areas a bit tired, but looks like its currently being worked on.

dining facilities.
Room was a little tired and carpet frayed, not a true double bed but two single pushed together.
Room No 6 was far too small, the bathroom was tiny with a sink you could only just get one hand in and the shower was better suited to a child or very small adult.
The lady who booked us in was abrupt and not very peple freindly.
Heating in room did not work properly so bathroom very damp which was causing mold to form on the ceiling. Too many dogs allowed in the eating area at one point there were 6 dogs there not hygenic when food is being served.
hotel in process of being updated also our room was on top floor up 2 flights of steep stairs.
The rooms were small and one of them was very small indeed, with just enough shoulder width to get through the door to the tiny shower room. There was also a lot of noise from the bar up until midnight. Probably to be expected as The Bay Horse is a pub with a few rooms rather than a proper hotel.
The room was cold bathroom was colder room no 4 do not accept this room in winter no heating in bathroom or fan to take away moisture. Shame was thinking of going again will go somewhere else next time.
On arrival at the Bay Horse at approximatly 4.30pm - 5pm we found the staff were unaware of our booking which was not a good start to our stay.
Room was very small. Bathroom was very small.
no hair drier even when we were promised one. bed uncomfortable . room not cleaned dust layers a week old. no bottled water after day one even though its says its provided.
Stayed just five minutes met at the door by barmaid f and blinding while smoking room dirty big stain on it bathroom reeked of cigarettes disgusting. Told the landlady we WOULD not be staying overnight. Very poor disappointed, after a long drive to get there we were looking forward to the stay. Bay Horse sort your rooms out and train your staff not to smoke swear by door entrance very poor reception equally poor accomadation would not recommend. Five minutes spent there enough.
