On our arrival, seeing my husband had a disability our room was immediately changed to a first floor room from a second floor room, without even asking. Molly and Roxy the family dogs were adorable and very friendly. We have no problem recommending and staying here again, fantastic.

  Staff lovely, very informative. The room was nice and big, very clean and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in! A fridge in the room which was helpful and a lovely settee for when you get back from a long day sightseeing! Bus stop is right outside the guesthouse and there is free parking on the street outside so you can leave your... cosa dice la gente » car and easily get around the city. It is also very close to walk if the weather is nice. No comparison to other guest houses in the area, this stood - the host and owner was very friendly, helpful and nice. Fhe room itself was smaller than expected for a family room. As I was alone in the room it was fine. but 3 people in this are definately will not work. The area itself is soso. Got called names from some youngsters one evening after I declined to give them money. Would love to,come back.

Mirella is the best host! - The welcome was warm, the room was clean and had all the attributes of a 4* hotel, plus some. A warm comfortable bed and the room was very quiet, I probably had the best sleep for weeks. The breakfast good as you get at any 4* hotel I have stayed in up and down the country. The road workers arrived around 7.30 in the morning but we were already preparing us for breakfast (monday to frida - The Elder York Guest House is a lovely place to stay in Edinburgh! The location is excellent, walking distance to all attractions. There are road works going on, but these won't interrupt your stay and should be over soon. We were greeted on arrival in a friendly way and shown our very clean and spacious room, with bathroom ensuite. Our host offered an excellent recommendation for a pub for dinner. The bed, couch and chairs were very comfortable and the room was large and had beautiful big windows. It is also situated in a lovely quiet area with access to private gardens nearby.
