The staff went out of their way to be helpful when we had a problem with my baby grandson who was ill whilst we were staying at the apartment.
There was always staff available even on a Sunday which was unexpected.
Also great having some provisions in apartment for when we first arrived. -

Family with 2 with teenage kids, It was an extremely clean and modern
apartment with a well equipped kitchen and furnishings. It appeared to
be brand new. Very warm in fact almost to warm we ended up sleeping with
the window open even though it was snowing. Comfy double bed with
sliding doors separating it from the kids sleeping on the sofa beds in
the lounge area. This was much better than having a family room in a
hotel. It was an easy walk into to the city centre but in a quiet

apartment was fantastic, new, good layout, good facilities and amenities. location was ok - a good 20 min walk to the heart of the shopping district and royal mile and quite a walk to a supermarket. Great to have a balcony.Parking a small hassle as none on site and you park up the road. Ok when you are settled but for arriving/departing/ unpacking

although quite small. The parking is very convenient with a connecting

The apartment was of a very high standard - beautifully decorated, fully equipped with everything needed for my week stay, great location, very central. Ideal for 5 days of business and 2 days of pleasure.
Very good communication from thistle staff - a query was responded to very quickly and there were a number of emails to ensure everything was going ok during my stay, which was great.
Very good value for money and made my stay in Edinburgh very enjoyable.

The hotel was convenient to both old town and new town areas. Staff was lovely and super helpful. We ate at both restaurants downstairs and really enjoyed them. The room was not huge, but it was very nice, clean, and had a large bathroom with a large walk in shower. The airport shuttle is right across the street and there are always taxis waiting outside.

The hotel was very comfortable and welcoming. Soft leather chairs and twinkly lights. The room was excellent with quality fittings and nights sleep. No noise at all through to the room and it was Christmas party time.
Continental breakfast was really wholesome so much so that my husband didn't miss his usual cooked breakfast.

The hotel is an excellent example of how to restore an old building (with history) into a very comfortable & friendly place to stay. We found the staff to be very helpful & welcoming. The dinning experience in the restaurant could not be faulted.
I liked the idea of the room names (but would have liked the names to have some relation to the buildings history).

The Merchiston Residence is fantastic and I just can't fault it. The building is beautiful inside and out. Furnishings and fittings all very high quality and every detail has been thought through, making for a relaxing, convenient and luxurious stay. For my next trip I would not consider staying anywhere else! Just perfect. -

We absolutely loved everything about this place. It is very close to bus station, train station and super market and lots of restaurants. At the same time, it is not very noisy and very crowded. We had absolute freedom and no interference from the owners/ letting agency. Would definitely recommend this place to my friends -
