Bermondsey Square, just one block south, has a lovely courtyard with two nice restaurants (we tried and enjoyed both), a cinema/bar, and a small grocery (which we also found handy on several occasions during our 6 night stay). Loved the location so near the Millennium Footbridge...great to stroll across the Thames every morning and an equally great walk from Tate to London Eye/Big Ben or in the other direction to Tower Bridge. Only had to wait for a table once (out of three - The rooms were lovely and clean and have everything we needed and we all got a great nights sleep. The staff were really helpful and it was great to be able to leave our luggage at the hotel before check-in time and after. Breakfast was really good too and set us up for our days sight seeing. All in all a lovely, clean, bright and friendly hotel, where the staff were always genuinely happy to help. was also useful to have a Tesco Express right next door.
