ease in coming and going and position of hotel. The room. a very peaceful place ,. Very peaceful. The quaint and ancient building, the central location for visiting the cathedral and the decor which had a Thai influence. Excellent shower!. Character of building, friendly (but seldom seen) staff. Quiet and Comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful in finding somewhere to safely store my bicycle. It was central and convenient, the staff were friendly and we enjoyed meeting Mr White the pet rabbit!. The Thai restaurant beside the BandB was good and the service was very good. The decorations and pleasant atmosphere, large room. Room had lots of character... lovely beams. central location. comfortable bed and warm room. Room was clean and in reasonably reapair. Shower was good; hot and powerful. Location ideal. The location - close to the centre. Hard to find, needs a clearer sign.No breakfast. The parking was a bit of a problem.Poor internet access. lack of breakfast was no advantage. It was very poorly signed from outside and we had to register in the busy restaurant next door. Bedding was indifferent quality. No breakfast available (although we knew this when booking) - no easy local alternative for breakfast. Not offering breakfast when sited above a restaurant was odd, and they could give information on local cafes as an alternative. (The nearest was 50m away in the high street. The fact that the women on reception or should I say in the restaurant beside the alleged BandB (it didn't do breakfast so quite how it is able to call itself a BandB is a mystery) demanded payment as soon as I arrived. She also wasn't happy that I was paying by credit card because "we lose 2%". Is this 2008 or 1958?. Floor had not been cleaned. English lacking from staff. could only access one channel on the tv. ensuite bathroom very cramped.quite expensive in comparison to other hotels stayed in. It advertised itself as BandB, but does not provide breakfast!. it was a cold day and the lack of heating didnt help also the nearest place to park during the day is a good 10 mintues away. Decor was 'interesting', could do with an update. En-suite cramped with no space between loo and shower cubicle. For £60 a night there are much nicer looking BandB's but was at least available last minute and provided acceptable if basic accomidation. I would not recomend booking here but if nothing else is available then it is ok. The bed had a plastic matress protector on it, which made it hot and uncomfortable. There were incredibly noisy guests in one of the other rooms who kept us awake half the night (though obviously this isn't the hotels fault). Unfortunately, being on a fairly main road and in an older building, there was also traffic noise.
