This hotel is like my view of an old hotel should be steeped in history and splendour. The people at Martins Guesthouse were very friendly and the breakfast was perfect. I had the small room with a tiny ensuite bathroom on the top floor, but I knew that beforehand and I do not need much space - so it was perfectly ok for me. Overall, I can absolutely recommend Martins Guesthouse. -

The apartment complex itself is very secure.
The bedroom was clean, bright and well set out given the limited space.
The bathroom, whilst also small had everything you need and unlike many higher rated accommodation I've stayed in hot water was available at all times and at a constant temp.
The staff were very friendly and helpful especially to the many foreign visitors there for the festival.

The apartment space was luxurious, comfortable, very well thought out and utilised - with modern open-plan living in mind, balcony with fold back door to seamlessly bring the outside space in, serviced to a high standard daily; friendly and very helpful staff. Very central location at the 'Lawnmarket' on the 'Royal Mile' in the Old Town, in the shadow of the castle itself - great for sight- seeing most within a very short walking distance and only a short bus ride to others.

The self-contained apartment was beautifully appointed with luxury facilities and attention to detail with all basic provisions e.g. coffee, tea, milk croissants The location was great with walking distance to the museum,art galleries, transport restaurants and the castle. We stayed at the Blinkbonny Rd residence and it was great. The owner was extremely friendly and the home was immaculate. Absolutely made my family feel like we stayed at our home away from home. We can't wait until our next visit.

The two brothers who own the apartment were so helpful and
accommodating. They provided information about where to eat, what to
see. From the moment we arrived they made us feel very welcomed. We
arrived early before check-in so they moved our apt. Up the line to be
prepped. They also stored our bags so we could enjoy the afternoon. The
apartment is extremely comfortable (good beds and linen!) and directly
overlooks all the bustle and excitement of Edinburgh's Royal Mile.
