I liked it a lot: friendly hotel owner, excelent location (about 15 minutes walking to center), value for money and timely and thorough cleaning of rooms. Аnd also there is a wonderful dog Archie))
The lodge is owned and run but a very friendly family with a lovely dog. Everything was perfect. Surely our choice next time we visit Edinburgh.
The lodge was located a bit far from the town center (aprox. 30 mins walking distance). And the price again was a bit high.
breakfast
only two power sockets in a quadruple room
We did like the stay very much. The only little minus was a quite small room which caused a little discomfort. But nothing serious.
Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, the room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was fabulous.
Loved thoughtful staff, very homely and lovely breakfasts. Archie the ten week old puppy was especially gorgeous.
very friendly people, excellent breakfast, feels like home
nothing
Everything. Clean, comfortable room, excellent breakfast and friendly staff.

The proprietors were extremely pleasant and very helpful during our stay. Would definitely stay there again.
Great homely, comfortable room and property; lovely staff (and their adorable new puppy Archie) & a nice breakfast. Located very conveniently to Murrayfield and the airport bus; also walking distance to the city (or bus from right out front).
The owners are very pleasant people. The room was cosy and home-like.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and tidy. Extremely recomendable to everybody
Location was ideal for both Murrayfield and Princess St. The Lodge felt very homely and staff friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds in quiet clean rooms. Really enjoyed the full Scottish breakfast. Would definitely stay again.
Beautiful house, excellent friendly staff & comfy bed, clean room, yummy breakfast
All great.
Friendly owners & staff, clean, comfortable and peaceful. Would highly recommend it.
Amazing place to stay :) Staff very friendly, and made you feel comfortable. Yummy breakfast and good coffee!
We enjoyed our stay in Edinburgh and would stay at Duthus Lodge again.Bus service handy outside but make sure to get a note of the buses passing the doorstep. Murdo ,Kay and Wendy looked after us very well.Excellent breakfasts, room cleaned, sweets, biscuits tea coffee, milk & bottled water topped up daily.
Room was excellent, very clean and great facilities. Owners very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
This was our first time staying in a B&B and we were very impressed. The owners made us feel very welcome. Wish we could say we would be back but as we live in New Zealand it could take a few years. Thank you.
Lovely house, very clean and well-presented.
Bit over-priced
Very nice place to stay, clean and charming. Great breakfast. Personnel was very helpful too.
Exceptionally friendly, very welcoming and tried to help with even the smallest queries. You could leave the car as very well placed for the excellent Edinburgh bus service outside the door! Tourist information readily available - Great Place
A fine lodge just outside the city centre.
Warm friendly welcome We had a 3 beded room that was very comfortable. Duffus lodge was very quiet and a perfect distance into central Edinburgh.
The couple was very friendly. Scottish breakfast was great. Although the location is not that close to the City Centre, the bus stop is only a few steps away.
Rooms , location and food was as advertised. I would stay again. Staff was helpful and friendly..
- Staff very friendly and helpful. We arrived early, and very jet-lagged, but we were shown to our room right away. - Breakfast - lots of choice, good food - Very clean and modern room - Close to Haymarket train station, so travel into Edinburgh was easy - Quiet - Activities were suggested, and we enjoyed them - It was fun staying in an old house that came with modern conveniences
- We were there during a heat wave and there was no AC, but the window opened and cooled the room off fairly well
We stayed at Duthus Lodge for 3 nights during the Open. It is a beautiful house and the owners are very welcoming. The location is ideal for visiting the city.
There was nothing that we didn't like, we would highly recommend this guest house.
We liked everything, especially nice little touches, bottled water, sweets and plenty of tea/coffee. Breakfast was excellent and all staff very friendly
Nothing to dislike
We were absolutely satisfied with our stay here.
Nothing
Made to feel very welcome.
Nothing.
Nice staff and comfortable room
My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and we didn't want to leave! From the time we arrived we were welcomed like family and we received excellent advice about things to do and see in Edinburgh. The room we stayed in was spacous, clean, nicely decorated and the bathroom was new with pretty tiles. The breakfasts are fantastic! The hotel is an easy 5 minute walk to the left as you exit Haymarket train station. We were able to roll our suitcases there no problem but there is also a bus stop right near the house. We loved the fact that the Duthus is located in a residential neighborhood so we could escape the bustle of the city yet be conveniently close. We love historic homes and the owners have done a great job decorating the Duthus. We would highly recommend this property!!
A really welcoming atmosphere in this old-style house in the area of the Haymarket station (West-End). You will have comfort, cleanliness and an excellent scottish breakfast! Do not be afraid of the dog: Bracken is harmless. You can have a look of him snoring on You Tube!
Maybe a little far from the centre but there is a bus station next to the house with different lines that will lead you to Princes Street within ten minutes. And you can park your car safely and freely in Duthus Lodge. Peut-être un peu éloigné du centre-ville mais il y a une station de bus tout près avec plusieurs lignes qui vous mèneront à Princes Street dans les 10 minutes. Et vous pouvez garer gratuitement en toute sécurité au Duthus Lodge.
The owners and staff at Duthus Lodge are extremely kind and helpful!
Such a friendly and helpful couple! They encouraged our daughter to play piano in the dining room, which was kind!
It's a bit of a walk to the Mile, but bit too bad.
Owners and staff were super friendly, we could have chatted for ages, room and bathroom were very comfy and clean
Owner was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great. Nice relaxed atmosphere.
A bath in the en suite would have been nice but not a big issue.
Very welcoming with comfortable room and excellent breakfast. On bus route from airport and bus stop outside with constant bus service to city centre just a few minutes away. Good location for city break.
Nice place, nice people, delicious breakfast!
Very friendly proprietors and staff. Excellent breakfasts. Comfortable room and good to have bottled water provided each day in addition to the coffee/ biscuits. Easy access to the city and to Murrayfield.
En-suite was cold
Very well run B&B with friendly staff.
Murdo and Kay were extremely friendly and helpful with tips on were to go and eat and visit. The guest house was very clean and the breakfast to die for. Not forgetting Braken the very friendly bulldog which greets you and is there to see you off. Quite simply 5 star in a guest house.
