the place looks exactly how it is advertised and the staff and food and company where exellent.
Typical country inn with a rich history at an excellent place.
Location is very good and a
convenient stopover when
travelling. Friendly and excellent
for people travelling with dogs.
Location right on the loch, food was excellent,.
The situation is wonderful. Breakfast was good.
Location is superb.
I can't think of anything that I disliked about staying at Tibbie Shiels Inn. I hoped for more local game on the menu.
Had to leave!.
Although there was a good choice on the breakfast menu, the portions of marmalade & jam were very mean. Two tiny
pots between 4 people! Quality
of these and the bread was questionable. Coffee was good and plentiful.
Cold shower, needs update, cleanliness, difficulty finding staff.
Tibbie Shiel's is in a fantastic location but needs massive investment to modernise rooms and facilities. I've been there several times over the years and usually enjoyed eating there though had never stayed before. I just felt sad that it really wasn't up to scratch. The double room was very small and the bed uncomfortable. The fact that the adjacent field is used for camping has changed the atmosphere: it was more like a campsite cafe than a proper restaurant.
Lack of staff. We were served a main course after waiting 1 hour and 40 minutes and we gave up ever getting a desert!.
