Nanteos Mansion Country House Hotel is a Grade I listed Georgian building, with scenic woodland gardens and free onsite parking. The historic market town of Aberystwyth is only 2 miles away. Flat-screen TV's are provided in all Nanteos rooms, along with tea and coffee making facilities, biscuits and chocolates. All rooms have king or super king-size beds. A full English breakfast is served in the dining room, and guests can also relax in the onsite bar or restaurant. Aberystwyth Castle, Royal Pier and coastline are only a 10-minute drive away. The Aberystwyth Electric Cliff Railway is also located in the town centre, and provides the start to a walk over the cliff-tops to Clarach Bay, from where you can catch a bus back to Aberystwyth.

The rural location of Nanteos Mansion is stunning, as is the Georgian property itself, with magnificent views across the valley. From the friendly receptionist's phone call before we set off for Wales, checking if we required dinner, to the enthusiastic welcome of the concierge who met us in the car park and provided a very full description of the house and grounds; nothing was too much trouble from the staff. I'd love to have a room in the main house but being a bargain price booking was happy.

From arrival into the car park conceierge came to collect our luggage. This was taken directly to our room. We had a mini tour of the hotel and grounds. How the equipment in the room worked such as coffee maker which was plentiful. Staff were so professional nothing too much trouble. Service was fantastic and any request made with. The staff were all really friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. It is the perfect place to stay if you want peace and quiet. The breakfast was delicious and set you up for the day. Our room was beautiful, the bathroom outstanding. The owners have done a very sympathetic job with the restoration and each room is individual. A superb country house that happens to be a hotel. Friendly and helpful staff who cannot do enough for you. Lovely comfortable spacious rooms with super bathrooms. Stunning rural views to die for. Excellent food, a bit expensive but worth it for the service and setting. This was our second visit. We hope to go back again. Nanteos is a beautifully restored 18th century Georgian mansion which now offers one of the best venues in mid-Wales - splendid rooms and facilities in a lovely setting, which is rural but just 2 miles from the coast. Ideal for both business and holiday. Highly recommended. All staff very friendly and helpful from check in to check out. Nothing was too much for them. They all wanted to make your stay enjoyable. Staff also very knowledgable about the history of the hotel.It has been lovingly restored to its former glory. Friendly staff create a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The breakfasts are delicious and varied with a wealth of locally sourced produce. Signposted walk around the grounds gives much needed exercise break after that breakfast. Quiet, secluded retreat, where first class facilities, service and food can be enjoyed in equal measure. I am not sure that I want to tell too many people about Nanteos as it is the type of place you want to keep all to your self. The Mews house was an excellent base for us and we had a fantastic time at Nanteos Mansion. The location/setting, accommodation, food and level of service was outstanding. Definitely a favourite for return visits. Attention to detail and knowledge of all staff was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. The evening dinner at first looked expensive but once eaten worth every penny. Good range of wines at affordable pricing. Extremely elegant filled with history and intrigue. Rooms were spacious and the bathroom equally large. The grounds were a pastoral picture. More than just accommodation you experience the grandeur of a past era. loved the ambience the friendly staff amazing breakfasts disappointed i couldnt get a table at the restaurant room was amazing internet connection mixed - but given the location ....understandable loved it. Nanteos is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The whole place is wonderfully fitted out and the room we had, Japan, was luxurious. As a gay couple, they treated us the same as everyone else. Perfect location, service outstanding, perfect for a peaceful relaxing treat. Nothing really. having to leave. Lovely house lacks a few little touches to create the true country house feel. Large flower displays would be a good start. There is very little to do on site although locally it must be easy to find riding stables and of course the walking is superb but many people expect some fitness facilities. Hotel not easy to find as directions are ambiguous. n/a. we stayed on one of the hottest days of the year, and at the prices charged I expected air con, the lack of this would make me think twice about using this hotel in the summer again also we had a room above the kitchens, it would have been nice to know this in advance, but would not have stopped my staying there over all a good experience spoilt a little by no aircon , which is expected at these prices. Toiletries weren't all replaced the second day. Only one coat-hanger provided, until I requested more. Carpets weren't cleaned well (a dead fly was in situ for all our stay). the room was a little warm but hey!. Although only a fairly minor issue, we thought the lighting in the bar in the evening was a bit bright and it might have been more romantic/relaxing with softer lights and/or candles. I had no dislikes worth mensioning. There's nothing bad I can say. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing to dislike. Absolutely nothing. Nothing, everything was excellent. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. not so keen on the tassimo drinks machine... would personally prefer kettle in my room. Leaving. The breakfast didn't match the rest of the hotel - very poor ... poor quality bread used for toast, and a curdled Hollandaise (and inedible) sauce on the Eggs Benedict etc.
