It is a wonderful hotel at a wonderful place. The room is very tidy and clean and spacious. They offer the free bus pass within the town and 2 special coins each person per day that can be used on the automatic washing machine & drier or for two cups of hot drinks like some kinds of coffee and tea and even chocolate drink.

One of the best backpacking/ low budget places to stay. Location is great (close to everything - 2 min walk to seriously...everything), but is also very quiet. Staff are helpful (and even remember if you've been there before). facilities are great for a hostel and the breakfast is better than some 4/5 star hotels offer. Heaps of things to do locally in all types of weather. And they also have washing machines and driers (a rare commodity in not only Interlaken, but a lot of Swiss towns). S

Very good location which is just next to the train station.
Helpful staff and they speak excellent English.
The hostel is very new with good facility.
Very cozy room and common area.
Dinner supplied not really expensive taking the price of food in Switzerland into account. But if you don‘t want to pay, you can bring your own stuff and a microwave oven is provided for free.
Everything is very clean.

staff are very friendly, providing useful info and patient to answer questions. Wifi is good. There are recreations facilities and television to watch in public areas. They provide breakfast. The hotel is beautiful with long history. -

I was travelling alone and booked a single room. The room on the first
of 2 bedroom floors and was small but very clean. The toilets and wash

I stayed there for just 1 night but it was wonderful. I wish I was able to stay a little longer. It is just like a home, both the hostel owners were so friendly and warm. The check-in time was 2pm, I arrived 2 hours before, but without any hesitation and questions, she straightway gave us the keys and told us we can check-in. Fantastic atmosphere and great staff. I felt I've got really personal service. I had domitory room for single use. Location is obviously one of the best assets of hostel. Bachlapsee is almost around the corner.

Atmosphere was great and staff very friendly. Place is situated right in the centere of Grindelwald, perfect location! There is a kitchen with possibility to cook, place to wash laundry, pool table, place to hang out or just relax a bit, nice also for families. I can't fault this place. My room on the 5th floor was the best
'shared bathroom' private room that I've ever had. It was
bright, spotless, and with all the trimmings that you usually find in a

Peaceful and quiet; we had a dorm to ourselves (as did other guests
staying); exceptional food (steak for main course); of our trip - which
saw us stay in eleven places - this competed only with one other
accommodation (pension sonnenberg) and was definitely best value for

We stayed for 5 nights at Barghuus Axalp and had a woderful time. Peter
and Michaela are great hosts and this place is true value for money. Not
luxurious but clean, comfortable bunk beds, decent bathroom and common
facility to cook eg. A microwave, a fridge, owners shop nearby with most
of things you might need. Excellant surroundings to feel the swiss hill
village life. There are not many people as most houses are holiday
homes. Peter loves to talk and is a great company. Happy that we chose

The hotel is decrated with many beautiful toys and paintings. The lady in reception was very nice, offering us their hand made cakes for free. There was one terrass with the room, from which we could see the moutains far away. -
Location, price and very friendly staff!!
Railroad station is in 7 min walk. Free parking.
