  Very, very helpful and kind staff, prompt and correct administration at the reception, nice choice of breakfast food, close to bus and train station, clean, many tv channels in English and other languages. Big room and bathroom. Very clean. 2 welcome drinks (1l sparkling water in the room, and a choice of a drink in the bar).   The location is excellent. Tucked in to the "old town" of Sargans at the foot of a mountain. We hiked partway up the mountain one evening and the view was gorgeous, and the local people we met friendly. Sargans is a little "off the beaten track" for English speaking travellers, which we don't mind. There is a historic church right across the squar... cosa dice la gente » e, and on the Sunday morning we caught the procession of children going the their first communion complete with a marching band. Charming. The actual - Warm welcome and English speaking host. Thomas was a very polite hotel manager and EXCELLENT chef. We would highly recommend eating in the restaurant, even the guests special rate meal was excellent. Undercover bicycle storage, fast WIFI, very quiet location.
