  A great hotel with a swimming pool in a very green and beautiful location. Smashing staff, all very friendly. Exceptional manager - very chatty and approachable. We were even offered a free room upgrade many times. We refused as we were very happy with a room on the ground floor directly facing the pool. Excellent massage! Breakfast was great and when we ate in the hotel the food was delicious and enough to feed an army!! The setting was idyllic, quiet but close to the beach, a small pool ideal for cooling off. Plentiful wildlife around the hotel including iguanas and monkeys All in all thoroughly recommended.

  Thaprobane Beach House was the highlight of our trip and the best place we've stayed in Sri Lanka. We were incredibly well looked-after and would highly recommend this hotel to all travelers.   We stayed here for 2 nights in September and it really was amazing. The place is around 10 minute Tuk Tuk out of town but it is on a lovely where the rooms are literally over the water with the waves crashing below. The service was really amazing. It was my girlfriends birthday so I asked what extra they could do for when we arrived. They gave me a few opt - The room I chose faced the sea and the view and sound were incredible. The public spaces were comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly, professional and accommodating and the food was food with convenient hours. I was a perfect seaside retreat.

  The beach was close. It was clean. The staff were polite. The boss, Mr.Teddy was very accommodating and friendly. It was under renovation so I can't give much comments on the comfort. I believe it will look good after the works.
