The Peakside Residence is ideal for a travel just looking for a place to base themselves as they spend most of the time out and about. It's not overflowing with luxury but its small unique features gives it a very homely feeling. These are small shared lounging areas and a balcony with a view of the city down below. The owner (who seems to spend most of his time there) and the staff were very very friendly and helpful. I think for me this trumps all other things about the hotel. The Manager was very welcoming and Friendly. The staff were helpful and attentive. The view is amazing.
Having to pay for room by cash. I was forced to withdraw from my credit card as the machine didnt work. It's a mosquito infested area this time of year. I believe the hotel could do more from the onset i.e. mosquito nets, mosquito sprays etc. They did plug in some repellent thing after I mentioned it. The breakfast could have done with a better choice, understandably when you're catering for a small number of people it can be difficult to try and get a diverse food items.
Ants on everything. The food, plates, cups, everywhere. Burning rubbish outside. On first day the rain came in the roof and down the wall like a waterfall and on to my e cig charger that was plugged in. hasn't worked since. Very annoying. Not a thing you can replace there. No coffee tea making facilities.
