  The hotel was unique and the hosts were very helpful providing information about sites to see during our short stay. Especially Rosa de Isabena and the Roman bridge. We chose to have dinner at the hotel and I must say it was one of the best meals I had in spain. Lamb lasagna - excellent. It is a very lovingly restored property. There are only four rooms and a small restaurant/bar, but the owners made such an effort to make us comfortable. The food was first rate and service attentive. Each of the rooms are individually decorated and immaculately presented, for the money you wont beat this small enterprise.

  Nice little gem that would deserve a more attractive surrounding. We just had a stopover on our way from Priorat to Rioja, and, well, Alcañiz is not that interesting. Sort of a grim blue-collar town with nothing much to offer. But then again, this ain't no review of Alcañiz - Villa Monter is quite flawless.   The hotel staff were friendly, on our arrival, they spoke  some English, which was helpful, as our spanish is limited. The rooms were new, spacious and very clean.Having an area to prepare food was useful.Both ski resorts were close by, easily reachable in the car.
