  Just perfect for a stay in Madrid for some night close to everything. A bit small room, but always very clean and newly restaurated. Very silent, as long as the window is closed. Noisy city outside! Shower with instant hot water. Fridge that works perfect. Good elevator. Highly recommended! - Victoria is just steps away from sol in Madrid; it's a perfect location for restaurants and shops (and Metro) and wanting to be where it's all happening. The price is good--actually it's excellent-- considering the location. The room (we were in room 8 just down the hall from check-in) was very quiet. And given how the building seems old and dark, the room was amazingly clean.

The staff were very friendly in helping with directions or questions about the room. The room itself is small but has everything you need. The hostel is a minute's walk from Puerta del Sol - the liveliest area of the city, and 10 minutes walk from Plaza Mayor and Gran Via. Basically in Puerta del Sol, with a subway station 1 min away, and at walking distance from the major attractions (Gran Via, Plaza de Cibeles, Calle Alcalá, Palacio Real, Catedral de Almudena, Paseo del Prado, etc.) a lot of shops, restaurants and cafés nearby, but inside the hotel it was reall... cosa dice la gente » y quite, besides all the street noise.   The hostal was located right at the Puerta Del Sol. The location was perfect for exploration of the city. The room was clean and the towels/sheets were changed out regularly. While there were daily protests in the plaza, we never felt unsafe. The lady who worked the front desk did not speak English, but this was not a problem for us.
