Manaar House is definitely one of the best places to stay in Durban/Umhlanga. We stayed there for three nights in the self Catering Apartment. As a couple with young kids, it was an absolute dream staying at Manaar House as it was so kid friendly that our kids did not want to go out because of the toys provided in our section of the house! They had so much fun & were so comfortable and as parents, that mattered most to us. The views from the kids rooms were phenomenal & they absolutely loved it!

We simply loved this place, everything about it. Great rooms, they smell so nice and fresh :-) nice facilities, beautiful garden. Cathy and John are excellent hosts and made our stay very enjoyable. John and Cathy were fantastic hosts who were always available and offered superb recommendations when our plans were abruptly on hold.
Location is superb, but would advise hiring a car to keep things easy, breakfasts and johns stories are worth the cash alone.
Overall great value, in a great location and we can't wait to return. Jo and I felt at home from the off thanks to John and Cathy.

This is a excellent property in every way. We stayed in a room with a private entrance and small terrace overlooking the garden. The staff was very friendly and warm. We were treated very well. The location of the hotel was very central to most tourist attractions and there was a great vibe. The breakfast was very nice as well. The hotel was ideal for a family as the fridge, kettle with beverages and sink plus microwave was a bonus as it made it possible to save on costs by not having to eat out and enjoy meals in the hotel, appreciating the views in the dining area. The hotel gets a 10/10 from me and i really got value

The whole place is nicely presented and, although we did not get the room we asked for, we were very comfortable. Value for money. -
