Great selection at breakfast and dining choices in general hard to beat. Doormen and hotel staff, including maids, in general we're exceptional. Location for best of Durban cannot be beat. Japanese restaurant was awesome, everything was delicious. -

l would have rated excellent on facilities,but telephone was not working and had to go downstairs to order room service which was a nightmare. Food server was horrible,given wrong order drink,to top it all,it was delivered 1/30(one

The staff was very friendly and warm. We were treated very well. The location of the hotel was very central to most tourist attractions and there was a great vibe. The breakfast was very nice as well. The hotel was ideal for a family as the fridge, kettle with beverages and sink plus microwave was a bonus as it made it possible to save on costs by not having to eat out and enjoy meals in the hotel, appreciating the views in the dining area. The hotel gets a 10/10 from me and i really got value

I stayed at the Tropicana in December 2010 and was not impressed at all. During my last stay I notced a remarkable improvement, i.e refurbishment, staff, etc. Well done! -
The fact that it is on the beach front and our bus just dropped us at the door, that was awesome. Value for money as well.

The positive thing is transport is just near meaning local taxis without a hassle in just few seconds. The friendly staff of Albany hotel always available to assist with a smile. The other thing is it's secure because the security is always around 24/7 and all this services @ an affordable price. Will definitely book @ Albany again. Keep up the good work!!

Although its in the city, you don't get to hear to city noise and the views from the hotel are very nice - From arrival to departure, we were made to feel that we were guests and not just people to fill rooms. We would stay there again when next we visit Durban.

The total experience, but primarily the rewriting of history. The colonial history of the hotel is abundantly clear in its incredible collection of wooden furniture, tap crowns, low door handles, etc. However, it reflects a poetic irony in the Madiba art collection and his inspiring words in his own handwriting, and the "new" queen of the castle halfway up the majestic stair case. The staff were excellent; friendly service, more than accommodating.
Room was perfect. Bathroom were lovely.
The meals were delicious, room service was quick, and when I was sick for a day in bed, the staff were more than happy to check up and see if I needed anything.
Very, very much appreciated and one of the nicest places to stay at a good rate.
Highly recommended.

The special treats at night by closing the curtains, open of beds and
chocolates were very special and a nice touch. The design and re-use of
an old building is such a clever idea and most pleasing to the eye. The
chef at breakfast as well as supper and presentation was excellent.
Overall, everyone was friendly and efficient. The view was amazing

The venue is situated at the habour, so we could view the activities of
the harbour which was interesting. The venue is also very peaceful and
quite, so if you want to relax, away from the "city in the
city", this is ideal. We also loved the lounge area outside in the
courtyard, so if you want to have your meal or drinks outside the
restaurant, it makes it an excellent option.
