Perfect B&B for those that would like to get away from the city, but not too far. The rooms with private bath were very basic, but extremely clean and comfortable. We stayed three nights and every morning our host greeted us with an exceptional and different breakfast. The B&B’s coffee machine is available 24 hours a day without additional charge. A hotel with both dining room and bar is located across the street…great atmosphere in the bar for dinner or sitting outside and watching the multitude of bicyclists ride by. More restaurants and hotels are approximately 1 kilometer away. I regret that I did not take advantage of the bicycle rentals which other guests did. In addition, the history of the area during wwii is incredible. I wish I had inquired of our hosts earlier about what had been dug into the hillsides during the war. For Americans, the American Cemetery is approximately 15 kilometers away.
One has to be very careful entering and exiting the hotel since you are immediately on the street. Cars are not as much a concern as are the large groups of bicyclists on the weekends coming down the hill and almost hugging the hotel as they quickly go by. All rooms are either up one or two flights of stairs (as I recall a flight of stairs was 15-16 steps). For those who are challenged with stairs, even without luggage, this is unfortunately not the place for you.
