Gorgeous location, right on the beach. Units all have thatched palm roofs and minimal amenities (no phone, internet, TV, etc.) although Internet access is available at the bar and in the lobby. The location is fantastic. Best on the Playa del Carmen. Wake up and go to sleep with the sound of the surf: in your own hammock on your own little patio, if you choose. The bungalows are a very good idea but are in need of renovation. The good news is, the whole place is being renovated and ready by the end of 2014. Go then. Excellent location close to the beach and 5th Avenue restaurants etc but not noisy. Spacious very well equipped apartment with full maid service if required. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast at a choice of two locations was fresh with a good selection of fruit, cereals and hot meals. -

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in my life. Everything was perfect. Staff is friendly, food is excellent, service is great, room is big and comfortable, and the hotel area is amazing. I will for sure book Fairmont if I come back to Riviera Maya again. -

BREAKFAST WAS AMAZING. Very good selection breakfast buffet including Mexican / Continental / American choices. Really sets you up for the day.
Surroundings are lovely as much of the original wildlife in the hotel's plot of land has been left in tact. Trees, flowers, iguanas, birds. Very pretty.

The bungalows are in a splendid garden, like a jungle. They have terraces where you can stay in the hamac or armchair and enjoy the garden and shadow while reading a book. The beach is very close and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is rich with plenty of types of food and juices from which you can choose. I liked almost everything.
