Everything! This is my first (and only) stay in "riokan", so I can not compare it with other "riokans", but I really enjoyed "riokan experience" in Annex Katsutaro. The Nippori station is on the main "circle" line which takes you to Tokyo, Shibuya, Shinjuku, and other places of interest without the need to change the trains. The hotel has a nice breakfast option for reasonable price. We liked it a lot and if we

Close to the Asakusa Gate and temple and there are many small shops and restaurants close by. For Tokyo staying in Tokyo as a family of 4 we had plenty of space in a traditional Japanese room. I would stay again without hesitation.

We had a 1 month trip around Japan :- Tokyo(Asakusa), Tokyo(Yokahama), a cruise, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Osaka & back via Helsinki. Staff are helpful, although it will help if you can speak a little Japanese. I have stayed in their tatami rooms before and this time stayed in a single (western style) room which was spacious for a single. Good to have free wifi, unlike many hotels. Tip - buy the koto cd at the reception desk as a memento.
