Everything! The location is fantastic - right next to big sights (e.g. Senso-ji temple and Skytree), but far enough out to not be loud. The staff are really welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. The hostel itself is superb and incomparable to most European ones I've stayed in both in terms of cleanliness and comfort. Plus, there's a free food and drink night every Wednesday, which is a fantastic way to meet new people!

I stayed here for 11 nights, which we're all great and this hotel
supported me in the best way possible. The staff was very friendly,
sweet and helpful, making you feel welcome. It's also 1 minute
walking from a Seven Eleven ( where you can also pin Yen ) and a
supermarket. The metro is about 5 minutes walking and Asakusa about 15
minutes by foot.

The hotel location is quite good. About 700m to minami-senju station. I
walk with my friends to Tokyo Skytree and Asakusa (Sensoji Temple).
Other than that, there bicycle for rental. I rent the bicycle for half
day (300 jpy) to ueno.
For muslim, there a mosque (Masjid Dar Al Arqam) not far from the hotel (900 m). But there are no muslim restaurant nearby.
The owner of the hotel is extremely a good person, help a lot in what ever things I ask.

The staff is helpful and they speak English very well. I checked-in late at night (around 10.30 pm) but they have midnight staff ready waiting for me. It's awesome.

This cute little place made my first stay in Tokyo so comfortable and impressive. The room was clean and i really love the bed and blanket...so comfy!! The staffs were also very nice and helpful. Very good location just about 3-5 minutes from metro. Wonderful^^

Considering we were on a 3 week trip to Japan and that we visited many
hotels and hostels during its span, I have to say that Tokyo Ueno Youth
Hostel had the friendliest and most helpful staff we have come across.
The general attitude of the employees towards the guests surpassed all
of our expectations. Furthermore, it had great facilities such as
efficient wireless internet which had proven to be hard to come by all

Everything about the trip was incredible. The staff were really friendly and were able to help me when I asked them something. I asked them something as weird as to where to find a poster tube so I could take a painting back home safely, and they were able to tell me a shop that sold exactly what I was looking for.

Location was easy to find and front of hostel stands out so you cant miss it. Greeted by very friendly staff, you have to take shoes off at entrance and slippers provided (though some did have a smelly feet odour going on!). Our twin room had a bunk bed which was very large compared to other hostels. Saying that, the room was very small in general. Small desk and window, hardly any room for storage/baggage. Great kitchen and communal area with free tea/coffee. Really friendly, welcoming feel to
