The staff at Gion Maifukan could not have done enough to help us. They were attentive without being intrusive and after the first night moved us to a bigger room to accommodate the four of us.

Our 2 nights-stay in the hotel was amazing. Our room was upgraded to a suite close to Gion Hatanaka. The suite was large, quiet and comfortable. We also enjoyed the kaiseki dinner as well as Geisha show. It was marvellous. The hotel staff was professional and helpful. They could communicate in English. I wish I could stay longer.

Where does one start with Yuzuya? I stayed for two glorious nights and the place is amazing. Worth every penny: the room is beautiful, with antiques and everything just so. The highlight is the food! I had two dinners and both were some of the best food I have ever eaten. Exquisitely presented on Kyoto pottery, each dish was a work of art. Breakfast was also amazing. The Ryokan was situated on a quiet side road minutes from Kyoto station. A minute away was a nice breakfast place and in and around the station there were numerous eating places for dinner. The Ryokan was spotlessly clean and the staff friendly and helpful in supplying maps and information on sightseeing.

Perfectly located in the middle of city. Near to restaurants, shopping, walking distance to Gion and temples. By taxi ( because it was very hot and humid in July) we went by taxi to a lot of marvelous sites. Japanese breakfast (over 20 different plates/boxes with magnificent food) or Western Breakfast both very good
