Hakone is a must for anyone looking for a short getaway from Tokyo. We
Bought the Hakone Free Pass for ¥5500 which includes a round trip from
Shijuku station and unlimited travel within the Hakone free pass area.
We found the best way to get to the hotel was by catching a bus from
odawara station and it takes about an hour to get to the hotel as the
bus travels through the mountains to Fujimien. Hakone area has it all,
cable car, river cruise, mountains, lakes and the oldest mountain
railway in. tutti gli commenti dei clienti »
Overall, our stay was a wonderful experience. The staff were excellent
and helpful. The view of Mt. Fuji from our room and the dining area were
superb, and the reason for our trip. Fortunately the skies cleared just
long enough for us to catch a glimpse of the great icon. The onsen also
had a beautiful view, was very clean and a pleasant experience. We
stayed two days and ordered the dinner each evening, and we were
extremely pleased. There are not many places to dine nearby so I highly
recomme.
The staff were extremely polite, knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating. We had individuals in our company who had some dietary restrictions and they were very kind to accommodate. The facilities are excellent and the kaiseki dinner (which we paid for in addition to the room rates) was superb! I had high expectations and all my expectations were met. It was the highlight of our trip (Mt Fuji was nowhere to be seen due to the bad weather). The breakfast exceeded my expectations and was as good.
If you are lucky to visit Hakone on a clear, cloudless day, the famous Mt. Fuji will be greeting you outside the window of your hotel room as well the hot spring. We were amazed by the spacious Japanese-style room and enjoyed laying out our own futons before bedtime :) The inn is easily access by bus although it is quite far from all tourists attraction, but its just three minutes away from Togendai ropeway station, where you can hop on a cable car or ship to admire the beauty of Mt. Fuji. I wi.
It's not hard to find this place and pretty convinient actually. Take Hakone Mountain bus from 小田原 JR station to Minani Onsen so station, and the hotel is on the other side.
The best thing about this hotel is the view. Every room and the hotspring has the view of Mt. Fuji in a sunny day. Almost cried the next morning when we saw Mt. Fuji in front of our eye.
Dinner and breakfast has a lot of choices, everything was made with heart. The cool milk after hotspring is perfect, bought 3 bottles stil.
Booking Fujimien was a great choice. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The view was spectacular from our Japanese Style room and the onsen common bath - we had a clear view of Fujisan every morning (early December). The traditional Japanese dinner spread was amazing, and tastefully done. In terms of location, Fujimien is also very close to Togendai Station (few bus stops away), where the boat ride and ropeway station are. Most importantly, it is really value for money consider.
The dinners are great with beautiful Japanese decoration styles. The
fish is excellent (but not the pork) Japanese room style is very cozy.
Staff are great helpful in the phone conversation with the bus station
to retrieve my luggage, which forgotten in the bus from Tokyo to the
hotel. They also showed how to get to your destinations with all the
details you need. Onsen is the best with open most of the day. Skin
lotions and body wash are good products too. Yukata makes you look
really nice, sl.
Fujimien is really a nice spot in the Hakone. The dinner is truly a Japonese gastronomic experience. The "Onsen" is of course the highlight of the stay. All feels very Japanese (as most of the guests were actually Japanese).
The view to the mountains is very nice, and you can get a glimpse of mount Fuji from your room window.
Also the location is very near (bus = 5min) to the main hub were you can catch a boat or the rope way to the main turist atractions in Hakone.
The staff was kind and helpful; We loved the room, big, simply but
tastefully decorated, the view from the balcony ( even if we didn't
have the chance to see the mount Fuji because of the weather) the futons
were very comfortable; The kaseiki dinner was delicious and the
breakfast ( a buffet) was very good too; Having a bath at the onsen was
one of the most relaxing time we ever had... We are definitely
recommanding it!.
Very friendly and helpful staff. My kids are very fussy with food and the kids meal, although it looked and was yummy to me, scared them! The staff came out with bowls of rice and eased the situation:)
Loved the location! Very very close to the Togendai rope way and cruise, which is very important when you've got 2 small kids!!
Love the spaciousness of the Japanese room.
nice exprience to stayed in this hotel, not far from the lake within 15 mins walk, or you can take a bus by 3 mins. we have 4 people, and lived in a Morden and Japanese combine room, very comfortable, clean and have nice mountain view. it was comfortable to stay in the onsen, and breakfast was tasty, staff were very helpful, good choice for stay in Hakone.
Japanese room was great, with great views to mont fuji.the onsen were
also very nice with a nice panorama view to the mountains and mont
fuji. Staff could speak english and were very nice and helpful. Dinner
was amazing and you could taste many small "traditional"
dishes It was also Very close to the lake...i would come back every
year if I could!.
I can really recommend staying in Fujimen! We've stayed in a lot of Japanese Style rooms during our 2month stay in Japan, but this one definitely was the most beautiful one. The staff is very friendly, always trying to help you with everything. The onsen with views of Mount Fuji is nice and so is the dinner.
I like the location.. Quiet. I like the onsen..though its common bath, I
had enjoyed my stay thoroughly..felt so so relaxed there, walking around
in the yukata, lying in the onsen, lying on the futon bed. I liked the
japanese traditional rooms.
Clean spacious Japanese style room.
Immaculate onsen.
Helpful, kind, polite, lovely staff.
View of Fuji!!
Beautiful food. The addition of Western breakfast items to a traditional Japanese breakfast was much appreciated (nice to have both).
Lovely staff, tasty dinner served. Awesome view from our room of Mt fuji in the distance.
Hot springs were the highlight of the experience. Very relaxing. Would love to go back again.
The mineral onsen with a view of Mt Fuji was great. The room was spacious and well equipped. The dinner was a good quality tradition Japanese dinner. Staff were friendly and helpful.
I really was impressed by the beautiful view of Mount Fuji that you can see clearly at the morning. The rooms are cozy and warm japanese style rooms, very comfortable and very clean.
The Japanese style room was gorgeous. The staff were very helpful. Japanese breakfast was elegant. Wifi available only in lobby but it OK. The onsen is great and so relax able.
Great view of Fuji, lovely onsen, traditional rooms, very helpful staff, clean, quiet place, and great food - including wonderful vegetarian meal. We'd definitely stay again.
japanese style room was big enough, with a nice view, excellent food, nice "onsen" (hot bath with volcanic water), friendly staff (standard in Japan!), very relaxing stay!.
Food was great, the onsen was the right size. The location was fantastic for transport and access to Togendai, from which all of the landmarks are easily accessible.
While it is a bit too far to see Fuji mountain when it's cloudy, it's still very nice view of other mountains nearby from the room, and onsen. Food is excellent.
Good experience of traditional Ryokan at a fairly good price.
Could see Mt Fuji from room
3 year old daughter loved yukata, sleeping on futons and onsen.
Nice Japanese style rooms, with picture windows (although heavy rain
when we stayed) Good set Japanese meal, staff really helpful re
understanding food.
- Can see the Fuji mountain from the room
- I love dinner and breakfast set, very delicious
- Easy to go to Hakone ropeway and Togendai station by bus.
We were too early for check in so after leaving our luggage we returned to find it all put into our room for us. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
food was excellent, service also excellent, view and location awesome, possibility to leave luggages after check out for a last visit around the lake.
Well organised and clean but at the same time a relaxed atmosphere
where you can, for example, make your own bed and get your own
hotwater for tea.
Very friendly and helpful front-line staff, including the manager who
recommended a day tour to Odawara Castle for cherry blossom viewing.
- The view of Mt Fuji from the Onsen
- Dinner was included in our fare and very tasty
- Use of Yukata (a novelty for foreign tourists).
The Onsen facility was excellent. Very relaxing. The food provided by the Hotel was very good indeed. Especially the evening meal.
Meals are great, very close to bus stop which runs between the lake (cruise terminal) and the Shinkansen station (Odawara).
Everything, the hotel is fantastic! Great Onsen, delicious food, awesome tatami-style room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!.
The room we had was on 1st floor and we can get out from the balcony which was fantastic. The onsen was really relaxing.
Views, Onsen, staff, breakfast, traditional experience, very close to bus stop, free tea and small snack in room,.
Nice staff, good traditional Japanese ryokan, with a great view of Mt Fuji and the onsite onsen was excellent.
-Great location, with view on mt fuji (when the weather allows it) -
onsen (public bath/hot watter spring).
Scene of the Fuji mountain with the moon in the morning, view it from
Japanese style room, wonderful !.
The Japanese experience is really fun and the food is amazing. Two of
the best meals we had in Japan.
Staff nice good location big room and clean Japaness food very good we love everything at Fujimien.
A beautiful spot wonderful spa and a must for one night away from Tokyo. We really enjoyed our stay.
The view was very pretty, the room was very spacious and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Love the views of Mt Fuji, the onsen, the staff were okay.
Traditional rooms great.
The location, the meals.were great. The onsen was nice first thing in the morning.
The hotel has onsen and good view of Fuji. The room is great and value for money.
Nice with warm bath with view over the Fuji Mountain.
Service minded employees.
simple clean and excellent view of Fuji Mountain, or the clouds covering it.
Clean quiet room with a beautiful view. Onsen is nice. Breakfast is awesome.
Great room goof view attached onsen bus line t stops directly at the
hotel.
Wifi was only available in the "WIFI Room" and the
shared Showers.
We were delighted to have a private toilet, however, all showers or
baths are shared. In many ways, this forces the shy foreigner to have a
truly Japanese experience, but it would be nice to offer some rooms with
a private shower as well. Also, they need to rethink the florescent
lighting in the dining room. Their dinners are lovely and the view
spectacular, but the over lit florescent lights do not aid the ambiance.
Nothing really. We had to make our beds, which isn't a bad thing, but left us a bit huffed having to make 5 beds for our family of 5 with young children (who rolled around the beds while we were trying to lay them out).
The bed is too warm for autumn, hard to fall asleep after hot Onsen.
There's really nothing much to complain about Fujimien, except maybe it's quite a distance from Odawara Station - if you are coming from Tokyo. Having said that, it is just a bus ride away (about 30min) so it is really not too inconvenient.
The price with half board (including breakfasts and dinners) are
expensive. No safe box and you have to give the room key to the front
desk when you're away from the hotel. It's far from Fuji
mountain and the transportation is expensive. It costs about $75 from
this hotel to Fuji, round trip, using public bus.
Room had a smoke smell but was otherwise very clean.
no food server after 7:30, and the nearest restaurant will take 30 mins walk.
Basically nothing!.
Quite a walk up from nearest ropeway station; or a 45 minute bus trip from Hakone.
No other restaurant choices in the area, choice is limited.
Breakfast was not great quality. There was no decent communal socialising area or bar. The hotel is not conveniently located near to train stations, although it is right next to a bus stop.
In order to reach Hakone Yumoto you need to take a bus that will cost 1020 ¥ and be careful because buses stop at certain hour.
Inconvenience to travel because the bus end around 6 o'clock. Don't have convenient store nearby.
VERY complicated to organise vegetarian food before we stayed - the hotel initially refused but after a lot of emails, they agreed and, to be fair, they arranged a wonderful vegetarian meal.
no hike/activity in the immediate vicinity, you need to take a bus (in front of the door) to go to the lake or to the town in the other direction.
For the room with the futon, although the sheets were clearly clean, the duvet cover was not necessarily as clean and would continue to fall out of its designated sheet. A better sheet to cover the duvet would be preferable.
A little bit dated.
- Public bathroom.
after check out impossible to buy yukatas.
There may have been a private shower for those who did not want to use
the communal hot baths, but if not it might be a good idea and extend
the range of people that would stay there.
- Partner was initially uncomfortable with the communal shower
arrangement, just a cultural thing, not really a negative.
Even picture shows the room with Mt Fuji view; you may have to use your imagination.
No wifi in the room.
The wetty smell from the futon apart from the usual tatami smell.
Isolated location, no nearby choice of restaurants, mattress thin needed 2 to make comfortable, no shower available in room, Internet room uncomfortable & uninviting, having to make own bed up each night.
tatami room seems to have a strong smell.
Had a walk in the garden behind hotel, feel the garden may need
to improve.
The distance from the train station was more than expected and the bus
was expensive in comparison to all the other travel we did in japan.
non.
location may be slightly further away from the central area but easy to find because it's right next to the bus stop. Wifi was only available near their wifi room and not in every room.
A little dated. The onsen isn't truly 24 hr as advertised, closed from cleaning between 9:30 and 2pm.
It take more than an hour from Odawara station.
Missed information about the food on the buffe, in english. Had been nice to know what the food is and how it is supposed to be eaten.
Some rooms have a smoke smell.
Hotel locks down at 10 pm at evening buses to the hotel have poor
intervals.
