  The hotel Le Penete located between the Lake of Como and Lake of Lugano is a great location in absolutely quiet sorrounding, offering perfectly designed rooms and a delicious breakfast with handmade jams and bread. We really enjoyed our 3-days stay there and could recommend it without any ristrictions. The investment in a pool on the huge area or in a sma - Very welcoming reception. State-of-the-art spacious design rooms. Good a/c, comfy beds, proper rainshower. Luxurious breakfast on terrace with homemade items. The place is intended to lodge wedding guests. Viggiù is very close to the Swiss-Italian border and a great base to explore the surrounding lake-district.

  Eager to get out of Milan and see what all the fuss about Lake Como was about, we luckily picked Villa Anita in the lakeside town of Bellano. As the hour-long local train made it's way from the Milan station, I felt release as we got farther away from the hustle. We had a car and thought it was an excellent base with fantastic views from our lake side room. Anita who owns and runs the guest house goes out of her way to accommodate you. Breakfast was good with freh bread every morning and many other options. The guest house is a lovely house with a fireplace and large terrace to enjoy summer and winter.
