  First, I need to explain that this is like a house or apartment with a small living room and kitchen area and then several floors of rooms with shared bathrooms inside of a larger building that houses other residences and some offices, as well. It is not a hotel, per se. One could use the kitchen (put items in the refrigerat - A bit of a find, this - right in the centre of Siena, the many stairs lead to a top floor maze of linked apartments managed from the floor below. Astonishing views from both communal areas and some rooms. Kitchen extremely well set up and spacious - could happily cook a family meal here if travelling on a budget. Theres even a freezer. Owners good-natured and helpful eg: allowed us to leave bags there on last day to pick up later.

Giovanni was incredibly helpful, both with information before our stay and in friendliness and helpfulness during our stay. We stayed with our 8-year-old son on our 1st visit to Siena. Having a fridge for cold drinks and a cooker for tea (ah - the English - we'd brought our own tea!) was brilliant. - To be in the old town means a 30- 40 minute walk; from the train station; or catch a local bus. This nice self catering apartment was in a good central location 200 metres south of Piazza Del Campo & in quiet area; with free WiFi. The manager Giovanni in reception was very helpful with maps and where to buy food.
