We had a wonderful stay in this nice, family run guesthouse in the
middle of Varanasi`s Oldtown. From the moment we walked in, we really
felt at home there. We stayed in one of their ac rooms which was
spacious and really quiet. The roof top view is amazing!!! We have been
hanging out there for hours, relaxing, reading, watching the sunrises
and sunsets almost every day. Their little roof top restaurant had the
best food we had in India so far!!! Eveything is freshly cooked right to
your order . tutti gli commenti dei clienti »
Varanasi was wonderful, and the most affectionate memories of my stay there are of Shiva and his family. Shiva will chat with his guests over a (free) cup of chai, he can tell you what silks, tuktuks, meals etc. should cost in Varanasi - invaluable information in a place where strangers can get ripped off with staggering virtuosity - he can advise on trips outside of the city. His warmth, generosity, interest in people and desire to help impress themselves strongly in one's memory. The evening m.
The epitome of an awesome budget hotel. The basic facilities with no
frills but the best staff, advice & help you could wish for Shiva
& his brother, who run the place are amazingly helpful with
everything you need - not just in Varanasi but for the rest if your
travels is India. Ie: Train tickets, money changing, airport/train
station pick ups & drop offs.
Very, very nice owners that made me feel comfortable and welcome from
the beginning to the end; rooms and bathrooms are small but clean -
definately good value for the money! The rooftop restaurant is also
great (not only the view). You have to try the Paneer Butter Masala!!.
Shiva, the proprietor, was welcoming, friendly, helpful -- the perfect host in what can be a hectic and intimidating city. The hotel itself is fairly basic (it's essentially a home stay) but it's in a great spot from which to explore the city.
Personal attention and involvement of Shiva and his family to make my brief stay as enjoyable as possible. The location is fantastic in proximity to the ghats. The best part was doing yoga on the roof with such amazing views of the city!!.
The owners were very friendly and helpful; I felt perfectly at home in the guest house.
The Location at the beautiful Munshi Ghat was perfect to enjoy the Ghats and the bazar.
Perfect location near the Main Ghat and very friendly and helpful staff. The rooftop restaurant is the best I tried in India so far! They make the best Thali ever! Thank you!.
very helpful and friendly guesthouse owners with whom we had fantastic celebration of Divali :), location close to Ganges and ghats, good food at rooftop restaurant.
the staff were very friendly and the location is perfect for seeing Varanasi. i ate at the restaurant a few times and the food was fresh and well priced.
Big room, owner very friendly and always happy to help, nice rooftop where you can enjoy your breakfast in the morning, lovely homestay.
Perfect location close to the main ghats and shopping streets. Shiva, the owner, is always there taking good care of his guests.
Great location, friendly and helpful owners, good value restaurant, comfy beds.
This was a nice guesthouse, right in the centre so easy to get to
everying but not so easy getting there with luggage as transport
can't get there...best to ask the hotel owner to send transport to
the station. The rooms were really clean. It's a good budget
option but the more expensive room is a tad expensive for the
accommodatio on offer.
Nothing! Everything was just perfect for us!. nothing.
Bed was very hard but Shiva is in the process of purchasing new
mattresses for all beds. He showed us one room that had the new mattress
when we checked out & it was nice & soft. No basin in the
bathroom was a minor inconvenience.
The fan did not really work in one of the rooms but the owners did try
everything to fix it right away, so no problem there... :-).
Some visitors complained that the beds were hard (ours was fine), but the proprietor is in the process of upgrading all the beds.
The rooms are a little small, but I had enough space. Also, the fan did not work correctly but the owners did their best to fix it right away!.
no bedding was given.
Noisy during the day if your room faces the narrow streets, not a lot of sun light, not the cleanest rooms but for Varanasi I guess its sufficient. No sheet under the blanket only a mattress cover.
I would expect the rooms getting cleaned on a daily basis.
Restaurant food is tasty and very reasonably priced but it's a bit slow so don't wait until you are starving! Our premium double room with a fan didn't have the advertised seating area & satellite TV. I don't think any of the rooms have a TV? It didn't matter, but if you want a spacious room like we thought we'd have based on the description, you'll need to book the more expensive rooms I think. We saw one that was very large, so best enquire what you need to book if you want more space.
