    Upon arrival we were met by Josh, one of house staff. Josh enthusiastically whisked suitcases up the grand staircase to our room and then we were off on a tour of this beautiful home. Breakfast in the main dining room goes beyond what most - The Columns Inn is a giant house that was built in 1906. It is full of history. April, the owner is charming and fun to chat with. The breakfast had many choices and was delicious.

    The River Gate Inn is a 'gem' within Winnipeg. We had stayed in a couple hotels and the stay at RGI was much more relaxing, friendly, and comfortable than any of the hotels. This was our first stay in an Inn in Wpg and it will be our first choice when we return. "Rufus" was a friendly addition to the stay. - Pretty much everything. We loved the atmosphere and character of the house. The wonderful breakfast and the little "extras" like the fruit, drinks, chocolates and free long-distance calling were the icing on the cake. It cost a little more than we would usually spend, but it was definitely worth it!
