  Ok, this is not a five-star hotel, but they don't charge a five-star price either. My opinion is, you get exactly what you pay for. It's in Lapa, this means it probably used to be in a slum. Stuff are very helpful, they do speak English (I was prepared to resort to - Good location in Lapa, not far away from the Arcos da Lapa or Cinelandia station. A rather tidy room.   Hotel is in Lapa, a few hundred meters from the famous arches. Transport connections are very good - there are several buslines that run past the hotel and allow access to most parts of Rio easily. Breakfast was fine. AC worked, which is somewhat important when it's +37C outside
