Firstly the hotel itself is unusual both in appearance and location, a former toll office in a now unused canal basin. The interiors have been carefullly converted into a small sculpture gallery and top floor bedrooms whilst the small gardens to the rear are now in a Japanese style, with several ponds. Secondly the owner was very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. The breakfast was excellent and all-in-all we had a great time. The close location to the town is also a plus as you ca.
