I've stayed in other accommodation where the rooms were close to the lifts. The noise from the lifts interrupted my sleep.   The staff were extremely friendly and happy to give me a room with a city view after already allocating our room. The view was magical and the location was central.   We booked 2 apartments for our family, young adlts in one apartment and adults with small children in the other. We were placed next door to each other which made it fantastically easy to go from one to the other.   Didn't know the Ridgemont existed until I found while searching on line, a little secluded but close to most things around the city. My wife and I had an upper level room for 2 nights, brilliant view, great to sit on balcony looking out over Strand and Maggie Island. Good value. Didn't get around to utilising the pool, spa or BBQ are but the - Proximity to The Strand, a credit to Townsville Council. Room was clean and neat. TV needs replacing soon, screen pixelating continually. Reception staff (owners ?) were very helpful with directions.
