I stayed in room 23 with my girl friend Karen Bosco who made the booking. I live in Adelaide Karen lives in Sydney and came to Katoomba to do the mountains with Karen over the Easter break. I was blown away right from the start of our stay, the fella who did our booking when we arrived was so helpful the way you pulled out a map and started to point out the touristy things to look at blew me away (now that's customer service something you don't get a lot of these days) breakfast was plentiful a.
tutti gli commenti dei clienti » We were very impressed with the helpful staff, all very friendly and they supplied a lovely full breakfast in the dining room and in our room we also had a microwave and items to be zapped in it were available for purchase at the office. We entered our room it had the heating on and was lovely and warm and very comfortable the whole time. It is about 15 mins walk (with luggage) from the Katoomba Railway Station and very convenient to shops and all facilities. We were happy with the room and its facilities, except for the shower water which did not run away, leaving you standing in dirty water... And a leak of some sort under the wash basin, which ran (out of sight) onto the carpet in front of the basin. However the breakfast was first class in all respects. Reception was very helpful and welcoming. Motel is good value, well located, easy to reach by walking from the rail station. On the bus lines of the hop on hop off tour buses. Reception friendly and efficient, helpful with local knowledge and any facilities requested. Room comfortable and well equipped.Quiet peaceful location. Very restful. There was a slight problem with the booking on our end and the owner was not only accommodating, but gave us an even better room than we had originally booked at the same price. He was so personable and clearly loved his job. Can't say enough good things about them. Ground floor room, great breakfast - lots of variety, Staff friendly. As we came up by train, except for the hill, the position was good and convenient to the pick up for the Trolley Bus tour - the weather was great. We had a lovely 5 days, thank you very much. Friendly, helpful staff. Walking distance to shops & restaurants. Comfortable. Lizzie's (Chef) breakfasts were fantastic. Short drive, long walk to Scenic World & Three Sisters.Reasonable driving distance to Jenolan Caves & Hawkesbury River. The friendly way we were greeted when we arrived, and his knowledge of the local area. Great location. Able to walk to shops, restaurants and also the Three Sisters Lookout. The hot breakfast was outstanding and the cook very polite and friendly. Friendly, helpful staff. I left an item in the room; they returned it to me quickly and with no fuss. Clean, spacious room. Good location. Generous breakfast with plenty of variety. Very good value for money. It is located near town central and close to explorer bus. Also, the breakfast is quite nice. The first morning, breakfast was mediocre. Better the second morning. Can't think of anything. We didn't know it was school holidays and maybe would have chosen a different week. Anzac Day was very packed wherever we went. The bathroom could have been bigger. Very strong smell of synthetic carpet deodoriser in our room (made my head ache). Chairs is broken. cold water tap in toilet is not working too. Irregular parking by one guest resulted in delay (waited more than 10 mts for some one to drive out) Strict instruction would improve. Older building with somewhat worn carpeting. (However, upgrades have been made to the room). Big choice hot breakfast gets hammered by bain mairie. Better to make to order with less waste as well. FamilyRoom was a little small for 2 adults and 3 children. No other room available. Next time I will book much earlier as the school holidays were on. However television reception on sydney channels poor particularly on abc with our grandchildren so early night tried digital and analog channels. not too much. No. 20 is cramped compared to your other rooms we have stayed in. Breakfast good choice but bacon very hard. Parking is difficult. the family room was not 3 actual beds like in the picture, one was a pull out bed. The hotel also wouldnt let us check in at 12.50 and made us come back at 1pm. surely there should be some small amount of flexibility after we had travelled all that way. Breakfast was a bit tired - been under heat lamps for too long and had dried out. no energy saving lights or taps. Can hear neighbours banging doors and TV noise. Also waterpipe noise. The pillows were very thick and uncomfortable. The lights outside the door shine into the room all night. The shower head seems a bit too big for the shower! You can't get away from the spray without turning the tap off!. supersmall room. Had to park out in the main street of town. Room stunk from plug in freshener that must have been on for more than a week, we all felt physically ill and had to open every window we could find.
