It's elevator is a clicketly-clack apparatus with a scissor gate-that you have to hold the floor number for a couple of seconds to roll- did I feel safe using it? Yes.   The hotel was amazing, so relaxing and beautifully done up. The restaurant/bar was also a very nice surprise - really good food and wine, in a great environment. Interesting area, not too touristy which we liked.

  I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in mid November. I have seen people raise there eyebrows when they learn this hotel is situated in Tenderloin area (which is considered a bit shady area). I too was reluctant to stay there but post my stay I experienced that it was not that badly located. So when we walk out the hotel just go toward van ness street, immediately you are out of tenderloin. The area is not secure especially at night but there are two routes which you can reach at the hotel, one is more secure.(the lady in the reception has explained us more secure road).   The front desk person was friendly. I like that you have to be buzzed in and I like that everyone who enters the hotel has to pass the front desk. Also for longer stays they have laundry facilities. - This place has a decent nightly rate and a great weekly rate if you can get them to honor it.
