Pretty much everything.
For a best western it has so much character, very nice design, nice to look at and rooms were spacious, clean and well maintained.
Nice pool area and fitness suite.
Lovely location in the Old Town, within a minutes walk of local restaurants and bars.
Easy to get to gaslight quarter on the trolley system.

The BW Hacienda is our main reason for visiting San Diego. i don't understand some of these people with their negative reviews! you get what you pay for people if you want 5 star then fork it out!! with that said! Very good value for the money, with simple breakfast provided (including waffles!). No elevator to second floor and no whirlpool at the small swimming pool. Just across the street from historic Old Town with shopping, restaurants and museums. Nice 20 minute walk or jog up Presidio Hill, also basketball court, are across the street also.

I liked that it was walking distance to the historic old town. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The complimentary breakfast included waffles, boiled eggs, variety of cereals, hot cooked oatmeal (not the packaged stuff), fresh fruit, yogurt, pastries and toast. The rooms come with DVD players and they offer a wide selection of movies free of charge. There is also local transit (bus) station very close to the hotel.

This is the perfect location if you want to get out of the car and just walk Old Town. The swimming pool is a good place to hang out and read in the late afternoon/early evening. -

When you take everything into consideration, this place is a good value
for a budget motel. Michael, Raul and Michael were helpful and

This hotel is very comfortable, well-appointed, clean and has excellent beds! The Hampton line of hotels are consistently excellent and the staff was wonderful as well...even calling to ensure everything was fine and recommended an excellent local pizza and pasta restaurant with free delivery for dinner when they found out we were just going to stay in for the night.

For the money, this was an excellent choice for a budget. It was clean and you had everything you needed. All new linens every day and well maintained. Security on site in the evenings was a plus. The outdoor pool and hottub were also well maintained and a nice ammenity for the stay. I've stayed at hotels for triple the cost that were less well kept and less comfortable.
