This hotel is "top drawer" all the way! - The hotel was quite grand, and very luxerious in the common areas. The location worked well for us, as we seemed to be no more than a 10 minute cab ride from just about every where we went. The view from our Tower room was the clincher. We had a beautiful bay view.

The history and design of the building.
Gorgeous. The bedroom was lovely and the bed and bedding was extremely comfortable. Amenities in the bathroom were very nice quality as well
Carpet needs cleaning or needs to be replaced.
I loved the jazz band in the restaurant and the bartenders were very gracious and the service was terrific. -

The staff (Maris, at the front desk, was specially helpful), the facilities, the breakfast lounge and the good environment. It's also super well located with a cable car station right at the corner. I'd also recommend the airport limo with a flat rate to the airport offered by the hotel. -

For both business and family. Great location, in the city but not with
all the noise. Close to the piers and Chinatown. Really enjoyed it! -
Its walking distance to Union square and Chinatown. Tram passes right in front. Very nice rooms and very friendly staff.

My two friends (a couple) and I stayed at the Canterbury for two nights to celebrate my birthday. We booked a one bedroom queen suite, which ended up being just the right amount of room for the three of us. Friendly and efficient staff, quick check-in (and a couple of hours earlier than scheduled time), nice breakfast, quiet and comfortable room, nice toiletery products in the bathroom, great proximity to Union Square and public transport, great value for money. I would stay at this hotel again and will certainly highly recommend it to my family and

The hotel has a lovely feel to it - pleasant staff on arrival; comfortable rooms; well positioned for an easy stroll into town and access to all amenities. A free daily happy hour from 4pm to 6pm was a very welcome unexpected bonus. As the name of the hotel might suggest there are strong links to the military and as a visitor from the UK it was pleasing to see the level of respect that is shown.

A very nice place perfectly located in the center of S.Francisco. Transportation is very convinient, including Airport transfer - just 10 min from BART (local Subway) Powell station, directly connecting location with SFO (35 min to Terminal 3). location was good but if you go two blocks over it gets a little rough.
wine and snack hour wasn't bad for free but in SF who wants to drink just decent wine?

overall, it was a pretty nice place. for the money here in san francisco, i am sure it was a bargain, but compared to other places, it seemed expensive for what you got. terrific location and nice people and very clean. -
