  The character of the hotel had been carefully preserved in the recent refurbishment and the quality of the furnishings etc was superb. When we had a problem with the air conditioning in our room, one of the managers Sam McCoy was very apologetic and ensured we were moved to a higher grade room as there were none available of the same grade.
