Breakfast was good value - just over £8 for unlimited buffet (inc. cooked breakfast) and unlimited Costa coffee.
My bedroom was spacious and the bed was really comfortable.
Location good - 5-7 mins walk to Princes Street and 10-15 mins walk to Royal Mile/castle.

Fabulous hotel. Staff were great, everybody was friendly and polite and went out of their way. Location is super, 2 minutes walk from haymarket station and 15 walk into Edinburgh city centre. Buses stopped outside the hotel to go to Princes street if you didn't fancy the walk. Food was good, we had breakfast and was lovely with lots to choose from. Didn't eat there otherwise but saw the food and it looked very nice. Rooms and beds clean and comfy. Great hotel.

When traveling into the city center, recommend the use of the city bus system. There is a bus stop across the street from the hotel, very easy to get around.

Very suprised and impressed with this hotel, well presented and staff were polite and helpful. Room was very clean and quiet at the back of the building. Booked into restaurant for evening meal, everybodys food was excellent and again very friendly staff. Booked purely for location for Edinburgh marathon. -

We travelled by train as it was much cheaper than staying in the centre of Edinburgh. With trains every 30 minutes until late at night the 10 minutes on the train was well worth it with the Hotel just accross the main road from Newcraighall station. to travel to city center by train or bus. The first impression was good
because it has a quaint relaxing look about it on the outside, that
shouted "You're on holiday in Scotland". Parking was easy.
The staff was fantastic, helping cheerfully with whatever I asked about.

Friendly hotel staff, comfortable beds and within easy reach of A1and Edinburgh City Centre. The staff at the Brewere Fayre were also frinedly and attentive especially our waitress Lesley during breakfast, nothing was a bother very friendlya nd cheerful. -

Nothing was too much trouble for the people on reception. Masson House Hotel, located at the University is a very comfortable, value for money Hotel close to the City and serviced by Taxi's (Cab Rank on Site, and very close to the Bus service to the City Centre.
We loved our stay and will definitely pass on to our friends that this is the best place to stay in Edinburgh.
The community Restaurant serves quality value for money food and Drink Prices from the Bar are the best available around town.

This is a family guesthouse, and that explains why you feel so much at home there. The floor cover, design and dining room all make you feel a special guest. Breakfasts icluded, wifi is free. And fast. Plus a relatively close distance from the center - that's the best investment for a young couple, friends or a solo traveller who want to enjoy Edinburgh in any time of year.

The Alpha Guest House was a wonderful place to stay. The bedroom was always clean (we were grateful for the fresh towels every day!), modern yet classy and well furnished.
