Lovely staff, great food, clean and comfy rooms, whole place cosy and traditional. Really liked it. Lots of parking, very central and close to main roads. Right next to paultons park if you are going there this could not be more ideal. I found the hotel quiet at night and just liked everything

Martin was very accommodating when our travel plans went awry and gave us a warm welcome despite our late arrival. We were treated to tasty local delicacies for breakfast.

This is certainly 5 star, I cannot speak highly enough of the comfort, catering, cleanliness and the host Martin cannot do enough to make yo feel like home from home. Every facility provided i.e Easy private parking, hairdryer, microwave, WiFi, power shower. , will even clean your shoes should you ask!!!!!! Will definitely recommend this hostelry

nicely appointed. It was close to the cathedral and the center of town.
There were nice shops and sightseeing areas nearby. The staff was quite
friendly and the pub had really good food and drinks. The stairwell and
hallways were kind of like a tiny maze but we found that to be charming.

A nice hotel, if you are traveling through. It was clean (except for the teacups, they were very dirty.) The rooms are spacious, and the beds are comfy.The hotel is in a beautiful location. The breakfast is nice, only if you do not like a cooked breakfast, there is not much choise. There are some serial, but no bread, nor cheese/ham enz. Only jam for your toast. If they would change that, it would be perfect. We went to Beaulieu in the New Forest (very nice!), when we stayed here. Allso Portsmo

We loved everything : this place is the perfect place to stay : comfortable and friendly. It's a local pub in a residential neighbourhood. The rooms (recently refurbished) are above the pub, but there is really no noise to be heard. Very good bed. There is a restaurant and the cooking was simple and delicious. doubles off the bat. It was a busy night and they were full. Other

The George was very convenient to the dockside attractions, as well as
to restaurants and shopping. I only stayed one night, but the room was
spacious, with a large comfortable bed, a very nice ensuite bathroom,
and other amenities one would expect, like tea/coffee and tv. The
decor was a charming combination of rustic and traditional (I admit I
loved the beamed ceiling!), and the large windows offered plenty of

The staff were great and very attentive. Food choice was excellent if a little pricey on some items. Rooms were decorated to a high standard with very comfy beds. Great access to the A303 made it an ideal location for Thruxton Motor Circuit. Would definitely stay again

I had a wonderful one to one yoga/mindful meditation session with Etzuko and even participated in feeding the koy carp.
Our room was lovely, overlooking the back garden and benefitted from a mini-fridge. Loved the guest lounge at the top of the turret - I felt like I had my very own "Princess Castle" - it was a very pleasant place to celebrate my 50th birthday.

We stayed in a superior room at the top of the house, it was really big and bright and very quiet.
The breakfast is excellent with lots of choice and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The Hotel is very close to the seafront and it is a lovely stroll along the promenade, you can walk all the way to Portsmouth old town, however Southsea centre is close by.
