Staff were very friendly and helpful and appeared very professional and capable.
The food was good and I particularly appreciated the option for porridge that was prepared hot and fresh for morning breakfast.
I have rated the staff as good based on the limited interaction that I had with them, but I am sure that they are at the very least deserving of this standard.

Loved the service. As there was a mixup with the booking the people at the guest house simply adjusted it to match our needs. Loved that staff was firendly and made us welcome. They even kept pur belongings safe the next day, after check out while we were in town. Really nice breakfast as well. Would love to go back if in the area. Good value for money.

Kays Cottage is a lovely place to stay to visit Windermere and beyond. Close to village centre and the lake and ideally situated for the main routes to other parts of the Lake District yet tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The welcome and service could not be more friendly and helpful yet unobtrusive. Breakfast is perfect and all of the rooms have thoughtful extra touches, choice of teas and coffees, biscuits and toiletries.

We had simply the best time here. A supremely comfortable room, in which we had our best two nights sleep of our whole holiday. The Derby Arms offers a full and delicous menu, fine wine, great beer, friendly people, historic bar surroundings with lots to look at. Lovely countryside to walk around. Stayed for a friday night, room was great, we had a shower room and it was big and the shower was excellent, plenty of hot water. Had a great meal, nice to see plenty of locals coming and going and their dogs! Very friendly atmosphere and would definately return.

Amanda was very welcoming and the homemade cakes were a nice touch. Our room was bright, clean and fairly spacious and breakfast was excellent. The B&B is in a quiet location but close to the town centre, which has plenty of shops and restaurants. It was very helpful being able to borrow maps and guides. -

Location was amazing, not much more than a football pitch away from the shore of Windermere, accessible through a stile. Lodge was very clean and modern, great views. One staff member couldn't have been more helpful when I asked him for plates and cutlery, as we were getting a take-out! Great value at £70 per night. Great place for outdoor pursuit

The setting of Brathay Hall is stunning with great views of the lake, and the hall it self commanding. We had a twin attic room which was ideal for what we wanted after being in the hills all day, good shower comfy bed tea/coffee making facility, small bar but no food available, good breakfast next day, all in all well worth the payment and would use this place again.

I enjoyed my stay very much and the staff were friendly, although the room was small (single) it was clean and comfortable. The meal was lovely alot of food on the platealong with a nice friendly atmosphere in the bar. - i really enjoyed my stay at the hotel and its good value for the money. I recommond it very much.

Ian was a very good host, he was friendly and informative and easy to talk to. This stay was made more enjoyable with his personal touch.
He prepared delightful English & Vegetarian breakfasts for us. We loved his mushrooms and coffee.
