We were contacted by phone a week before arrival to confirm that our requests for our Ruby Anniversary weekend had been met. Our room was just as the owner described and had views to die for.

Warm welcome from the staff and landlord. Bar staff, waiters seemed part of a warm team enjoying their jobs. The pub/hotel is pet friendly. We had our medium sized, well-behaved dog in the bedroom, and in breakfast with us one day. The waiter helped with a bowl for leftovers/water. The hotel is in a great location overlooking the tidal Kent estuary. Good walks nearby, Leighton Moss RSPB reserve, regular train service to local stations north and south.

Excellent. The Staff were helpful and pleasant at all times. The Hotel was spotlessly clean, our room light and airy. - Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Friendly staff and a lovely room with a fantastic view. No complaints!

We wanted a real good value pub as a walking base for the weekend, we found one right in the middle of the lakes. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us - big thanks. The food was straightforward, good quality and great value. The beer was exceptional and again great value. We loved all the fires and so did our dogs. The rooms we ok, nothing special, but clean and comfortable. We will be returning again.

Facilities were great - used the swimming pool every day. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent quality food - booked bed and breakfast but after eating in on the 1st night didn't want to go anywhere else. - The Staff were always helpful, it was quiet and anice place to relax, and yet easy to travel to visit the area around.

Loved everything about our stay here. Really friendly and helpful staff who are all a credit to the hotel. Room had great view across to the lake. Large comfy bed, loads of storage space, hot and powerful shower, huge bath towels and more. Would definitely recommend evening meal at hotel. Food cooked to order so served fresh and hot. The hotel is in an excellent location to see the Lake District. The only issue is the parking. The hotel does not own the parking lot so you must pay to use it. The lot is also rather small so you may have to park on the street and move your car by 9:00 in the morning or be ticketed. -
