  The staff were lovely and very accommodating The location - I have never been anywhere with so many pretty cottages, halls & countryside walks in such quick succession - utterly surprised (& I'm from the home counties with family in deepest Dorset & Devon) The food at The Cricketers is delicious - I hadn't looked up the menu before bo... ce que les gens disent » oking & so had considered dining out but on looking at the menu, I was convinced to stay put. They provide creative and traditional meals, present - Our room was spotlessly clean & very comfortable. The bed & bedding were superb. We really enjoyed our evening meal, which is several cuts above 'pub grub'. The breakfast was especially good, with a wide range of choices, like the delicious Eggs Florentine I had. The service was very efficient and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The settin is a perfect example of an English village with a village green, & was very peaceful.
